- Comfort performing fast-paced, transactional, outbound and inbound sales

What the job involves
- As a Coast AE hire in New York City, you will roll up your sleeves to do the critical work of selling Coast’s product
- Coast is built to help businesses with fleets save time and money, and you will identify, develop, and close relationships with prospective clients
- At the same time, you’ll help build out the sales strategy and vision for our customer-first sales organization. Your contributions will directly drive revenue for Coast, while enabling the long term success of our future sales colleagues
- Own the entire customer sales cycle from prospect to close for businesses that operate between 50 and 1,000 vehicles
- Drive revenue for Coast through consultative, customer-first, selling
- Develop a sales pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting and closing large inbound leads
- Articulate the Coast value proposition to qualified decision makers, finance teams, and C-level executives
- Collaborate with marketing to create a holistic customer engagement strategy
- Share customer feedback with Coast colleagues in product, finance, and risk to improve the user experience
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and projected revenue goals
- Provide input into the sales organization strategy to help us scale exponentially
- Proactively develop recommendations to improve and optimize our sales engine
- In your first year, you’ll be successful if you:
- Build and convert a consistent pipeline through your own outbound effort, hitting and exceeding quota quarter after quarter
- Master platform selling by expanding relationships beyond the Fleet and Fuel Card to sell across Coast's full product suite
- Become a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, translating deep product and market knowledge into consultative, customer-first conversations that build lasting trust
- Bring resilience and grit to the job, pushing through setbacks and objections to reliably deliver on your number
- Embrace Coast's AI-native culture by using and building on AI tools and agents to make yourself and the broader sales org faster and sharper
- Partner effectively across departments, recognizing that your success (and Coast's) depends on marketing, product, finance, and risk pulling together with Sales
Our take
In recent years, companies like Ramp, Brex, Divvy, and others have emerged to provide easier ways for companies to allow their employees to pay for job-related expenses through corporate cards. However, none of these services really work for businesses operating automobile fleets, approximately 10% of B2B card spend in the US.
That’s where Coast comes in, offering a modern card issuing expense solution specifically built for fleets. The Coast card meets the demands of fleet-specific controls, security, and visibility, contributing to preventing fraud and unauthorised use. Its platform allows fleet managers to visualise spend, block or flag transactions for review, and set their own rules for cardholders.
With back-to-back funding rounds awarded in 2024, Coast has been focused on expanding its team and the platform’s capabilities, offering a wider range of financial products - including parking, maintenance, and other on-the-road expenses on top of just fuel. Its Visa Fleet card program, which enables Coast Visa Fleet cardholders to make payments wherever Visa is accepted, makes it an attractive option in the market as fleet management continues to modernise.
