Senior Product Data Scientist, Waymo

• Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics)
• 8+ years of industry experience solving data science problems (or 5+ years of experience with a PhD in a quantitative field)
• Expertise using advanced statistical methods in an applied setting; familiarity with optimization methods
• Demonstrated knowledge of Python/SQL/R data analysis libraries and packages

• In this hybrid role, you will report to a Product Data Science Director, Commercial Operations
• Be responsible for optimizing the deployment of the Waymo fleet to best meet consumer demand while keeping operational costs as low as possible
• Develop measurement frameworks to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the fleet with a deep understanding of demand, supply, network balance and real world constraints
• Conduct deep dive analysis to identify opportunities for how we improve the overall efficiency of Waymo’s fleet orchestration products
• Build performance monitoring and altering systems to ensure we can quickly identify failure modes and take appropriate corrective action
