Company mission

To modernise the global wine and spirits industry, propelling the finest products to every corner of the world.

Role

Who you are

  • We’re on the hunt for a talented and ambitious individual ready to tackle hard challenges and enjoy the rewarding career that comes with being part of a fast-growing company with a grand vision and a killer product.
  • You’re driven, curious, humble, and collaborative—basically, the sort of person who loves diving into complex problems just as much as a great cup of coffee.
  • You're no stranger to long coding sessions, and if you've sharpened your skills in top-tier tech or financial companies, consider that a big plus.
  • A Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar discipline—you know, the usual brainiac stuff.
  • 5+ years of relevant, broad software engineering experience—think of it as having aged like a fine wine, with complexity and depth that only time can bring.

Desirable

  • If you've been a founder, CTO, or a key player in a rocketship startup, you'll definitely catch our eye!
  • You’re fluent in multiple programming languages, showing you not only have a passion for coding but also an unquenchable thirst for learning new tricks.

What the job involves

  • Our platform is experiencing explosive growth and require ongoing architecture upgrades to handle the ever increasing complexity, all while delivering new features at a rapid pace. You will work alongside our CTO and CPO to deliver new functionalities while making the platform more flexible and scalable.
  • Our product is like a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle—except the pieces are finance, logistics, and industrial processes. You’ll need to quickly get up to speed and see the big picture.
  • We’re expanding our team rapidly, and everyone here gets a seat at the table. You’ll be involved in hiring, mentoring, and nurturing a culture that’s collaborative, ambitious, and laser-focused on results.

Application process

  • Introductory video call 30min - 1 hour
  • Technical screening call 1 hour
  • In office technical deep dive (3 hours) and lunch with the team
  • Founder interview (30 min)

Our take

Businesses in the drinks industry encounter unique challenges, such as significant liquidity constraints (with funds tied up in stock and lengthy payment terms), an outdated and complex supply chain, and a highly regulated global market that creates friction and barriers to international sales. Ferovinum has developed an end-to-end digital platform that empowers businesses to fund, produce, procure, and sell in global wine and spirits markets.

The producers of spirits and wines are generally small to medium-sized businesses, and Ferovinum’s pitch is that its technology, which provides working capital and supply chain automation tools, will benefit from this rocket-boosted tech. It offers a comprehensive suite of foundational services, including capital funding, supply chain automation, international logistics, and access to global trade channels. The company’s founders certainly have experience in financial management, one having overseen structured commodity financing at the Macquarie Group and the other having a history of executive directing restructuring for investment banks.

With production and distribution tools at its disposal, Ferovinum offers predictive inventory management, seamless integration, and international logistics. Its one-size-fits-all technology has already benefitted some of the oldest scotch whiskey distilleries in Scotland on a pilot scheme, funded by a £100 million investment in Ferovinum in 2021. Though still in its early days, the company seems set to attract more clients as its technology evolves.
