Who you are
- Experience: You have 10+ years of experience contributing to engineering teams including 2+ years of experience leading teams
- Hands-on Leadership: Our managers act as CTOs. You are hands on. You sometimes take the player/coach role. You drive technology choices, you review PR on a daily basis, you occasionally jump and code yourself

What the job involves
- Deliver a best-in-class Calendar product that sets a new standard for how professionals manage time — driving increased customer delight, adoption, and retention
- Accelerate Superhuman’s business growth by identifying, building, and scaling calendar features that unlock deep customer value and differentiation
- Foster a high-performing engineering culture rooted in technical excellence, ownership, ambition, and psychological safety — making the Calendar pod a magnet for top-tier talent
- Hire, onboard, and retain exceptional engineers who raise the bar for quality, velocity, and product thinking
- Coach and develop engineers to reach new levels of impact in their careers — through regular feedback, career growth planning, and deep technical mentorship
- Drive architectural and executional excellence by setting clear technical direction and holding a high bar for design reviews, system design, and code quality
- Lead through influence across Superhuman, collaborating with Product, Design, and other Engineering Managers to shape strategy, resolve cross-team challenges, and scale engineering practices
- Champion continuous improvement, challenging existing processes and assumptions to improve speed, product quality, and developer experience
- Contribute to Engineering leadership’s vision and operating model, helping define how Superhuman scales and evolves its product and engineering org
Our take
We spend a staggering upwards of 3 hours a day buried in our emails. The majority of us are used to legacy giants like Gmail or even Hotmail. Superhuman recognizes that our email UX could just be a lot more beautiful and efficient, and have integrated smart features like “unsend” so we never have to suffer the embarrassment of another typo.
Although standing out in a market of free services (they charge a $30 per month fee), Superhuman commanded a waiting list of over 250,000 during its beta testing phase.
With more than $100 million in overall funding from firms like Andreessen Horowitz and First Round Capital, Superhuman is setting trends in emerging enterprise software with both its design and go-to-market strategy. They’ve managed to steal an audience from the big players by giving users something beautiful and more streamlined to work with. Its 2024-released feature is a testament to this, which generates instant reply suggestions for emails that are smart, context-aware and efficient.
