Role
Who you are
- Experience - 10+ years of experience in a sales engineering, solutions consulting, or technical pre-sales role, ideally supporting a B2B financial services or wealth management platform
- Deep domain knowledge - a strong grasp of the RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) ecosystem, broker-dealer infrastructure, and portfolio management workflows. Experience navigating custodial platforms and compliance requirements is a strong plus
- Technical fluency - proven ability to understand and explain complex API integrations, data flows, and back-end processes to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Enterprise selling acumen - deep understanding of enterprise sales cycles, including discovery, proof-of-concept, security reviews, etc. You act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the process

- Licensing: SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses or the ability to obtain them in 90 days

What the job involves
- Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we’re excited to hire a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our growing Enterprise team
- Collaborate closely with Product Director, Enterprise and Sales Director, Enterprise to develop and continuously refine a GTM strategy for the Enterprise segment
- Drive sales execution by partnering with the Client Development team throughout the sales cycle from early discovery through close developing a consultative, solution approach, answering technical questions, delivering customized demos and presentations, and bringing in SMEs as needed into the process
- Lead end-to-end implementation and onboarding process of new enterprise clients; ensuring a smooth handoff from sales, managing technical requirements and gathering, coordinating integrations, etc
- Develop a deep understanding of the Altruist platform to be able to demo and speak to various capabilities
- Stay informed on the technology landscape of the wealth management industry to be able to speak to different tech stack configurations, integration capabilities, speak to different use cases, and surface efficiency gains for firms
- Systematically capture advisor feedback throughout the sales cycle to help inform company priorities (e.g., product roadmap, marketing campaigns)
- Contribute to the sales team’s goal of creating predictable, scalable growth by proactively identifying ways to make the team better, meeting sales SLAs, and consistently maintaining accurate and complete records in Salesforce
- Travel as required during the pre- and post-sales process
- Develop competitive information and insights on legacy custodians (Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing) and build an understanding of how parts of their business and products operate
Our take
The world of wealth management is changing fast, and financial advisors are feeling the strain. Between managing client expectations, navigating complex regulations, and keeping up with endless admin tasks, there's little time left for what really matters - helping clients make smarter financial decisions.
And that's where Altruist comes in, with AI-powered solutions built to make it easier for advisors to manage portfolios, handle compliance and deliver great client experiences. Its AI assistant, Hazel, is able to take on the day-to-day tasks that slow advisors down (think note-taking, email drafting, and meeting summarising). It can also pull insights from firm data, emails, and documents to give personalized, context-aware answers to questions.
The company has faced some bumps in the road, notably laying off around 15% of its workforce in 2025. That said, this shift to focus on the most impactful parts of its business is not entirely negative. In fact, its plan to build an all-in-one custody and wealth platform driven by Hazel is coming faster than the company anticipated, with the CEO stating that it could make much of the advisor tech stack irrelevant by the end of the year.
