Role
Who you are
- You have up to 1 year of experience working in Fintech or banking KYC operations. If you don’t have this experience, but you understand what KYC is and get giddy thinking about it, let’s talk anyway
- An eye for detail while conducting reviews quickly and accurately
- Able to navigate ambiguity; comfortable with the idea of informed risk taking
- Know what you don’t know, but follow the risk in any given scenario
- Excellent written communication skills that create a positive customer experience, even when a customer turns out to not be a great fit
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, geographically-distributed environment
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, as needed
Desirable
- Familiarity with business intelligence, KYC vendor and CRM tools (Looker, Trulio, IDology, LexisNexis, ComplyAdvantage, Intercom, Zendesk, etc)
- Scaling startup background - you’ve successfully navigated rapid growth
- Experience scaling onboarding teams and models
- You have worked in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- You come from a family of small business owners
- You have a non-traditional or diverse background (personal or professional). You’ve lived a life that is different, where you've been challenged or have chosen to challenge yourself
What the job involves
- As our KYC Associate, you’ll work with our world-class Trust & Safety team. Reporting to our Director of Trust & Safety, you’ll be joining a team who have helped build companies like Chime, Twitter, Instacart, E-Trade, McKinsey, Etsy, eBay, LendingTree, Expedia and more
- This role will be a key stakeholder in helping us build and iterate on an excellent onboarding model, you should be well-versed in the world of KYC and KYB
- As a KYC Associate, you'll focus on application reviews, onboarding model performance, leveraging your on-the-ground knowledge to identify and highlight emerging trends, and work with internal and external stakeholders as needed to support NorthOne's Compliance program

NorthOne’s API enabled mobile banking platform is targeted at small business owners, startups and freelancers who don’t have the capacity or business infrastructure to effectively manage their finances.
In exchange for a monthly fee, account holders get unlimited free transactions, invoicing tools, as well as connectivity with a range of popular business apps including PayPal, FreshBooks, Etsy, and Square. There are also no non-sufficient funds or overdraft fees, a penalty which costs US bankers millions per year.
Mobile financial services are expected to be worth $60 billion by 2025, and competition for a slice of the pie is fierce. Big banks, as well as other startups like Azlo and Bank Novo all stand beside NorthOne in targeting the growing SME market. However, with substantial funding at its back, the company has set its sights on becoming the go-to digital banking solution for small businesses.
