Role
Who you are
- 3 years of experience in inside sales, sales operations, or commercial operations - ideally including time in FMCG or retail - with real experience leading or building a team
- You've scaled or restructured an operational function before: you know how to take something reactive and messy and turn it into something clean, documented, and repeatable
- Comfortable owning ambiguity: this function is being rebuilt in real time, and you'll need to make calls on scope, process, and priority without everything being pre-defined for you
- Fluent in German and English - confident on the phone with German-speaking retail partners and equally comfortable working in an international team
- Based in Berlin and open to frequent office attendance
- Systems-fluent: Excel/Sheets at an advanced level. Knowledge in ERP/OMS and EDI platforms are a big plus
- Hands-on leader: willing to work the phones and inbox yourself in the early days while you build out the team and processes around you
- Obsessed with follow-through and accuracy - partners and colleagues trust you because you deliver, every time
What the job involves
- This is a senior, hands-on leadership role at the center of HOLY's retail transformation. You'll take functional ownership of Inside Sales - order management, invoicing, master data, customer support, and fleet - and be the person who turns a reactive operation into a clean, automatable, well-run team
- You'll lead our (Junior) Inside Sales Manager(s), set up the processes and SOPs that let the team scale without proportional headcount growth, and be the senior counterpart to Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Systems, and Field Force as we redraw who owns what
- This is not a role where the structure is handed to you - you're one of the first two hires building it, and how well it works six months from now depends largely on you
- Take end-to-end leadership of the Inside Sales function - order intake, invoicing, master data, and customer support/communication management for our retail partners
- Lead, coach, and grow the (Jr.) Inside Sales Manager(s), our part-time Fleet Manager and our Working Student - you're their manager, their escalation point, and the one who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks when volume spikes
- Be the senior point of contact for cross-functional coordination with Key Account Management, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and Systems - resolving issues at the root, not just relaying them
- Build the processes, SOPs, and escalation paths that let Inside Sales run without every crisis landing on your desk - design for scale and automation, not just for getting through today
- Own fleet management end-to-end (procurement, wrapping, accident management, and disposal)
- Drive down the order backlog and outstanding-payment issues that come with a growing retail business, and put in place the reporting/KPIs (order accuracy, fulfillment SLAs, invoice turnaround) that let us see problems before they become crises
- Partner with Jonas (current Sr. Sales Operations Manager) during the transition and take increasing ownership of the function as Sales Operations responsibilities are handed off to specialist teams

- Hiring Manager Interview with Johnny: Diving deeper into some more technical topics and your experience with Johnny, our Sr. Sales Operations Manager
- Case study: As soon as you have successfully completed the first interviews, you will receive a case study
- In-person discussion: In this on-site meeting, Johnny and the team will discuss your case study with you and answer questions in our office, the HOLY Temple. In addition, you’ll meet parts of the HOLY Retail team and learn more about HOLY’s culture, vision, and team
- Founder interview: As a strong cultural fit is important to us, you will have a final meeting with Matze, one of our HOLY founders. This gives both you and us the opportunity for a final check
- Job offer and decision: Once the process is completed, we will take the time to present you with a competitive offer, including a share package, and answer any questions you have regarding the employment, before you joining our journey

Our take
The soft drinks industry is big business, estimated to reach a value of over $600 billion by 2030. However, many of the biggest brands are full of unhealthy and unethically sourced ingredients that are not in line with the push for more sustainable products. HOLY is a German company that wants to disrupt the soft drink industry with healthier and more ethically sourced alternatives.
HOLY’s two flagship products are its energy drink and iced tea. With sugar and taurine-free ingredients, the products come in powder form, which saves 90% on packaging and significantly decreases the amount of CO2 emissions from manufacture and transport compared to canned drinks.
As with many soft drinks, HOLY’s branding is key. Its vivid designs and online presence increase its appeal for the gaming community, who would typically lean toward large competitors such as Monster Energy. With good funding at its back and a 2026 push into the UK market, HOLY is on the right path to compete with well-established rivals, having sold more than 10 million drinks solely via its online marketplace.
