What the job involves
- The Growth team balances short-term projects with fast iteration and larger initiatives, working across Wealthfront’s entire product suite. The team:
- Drives high intent visitors to Wealthfront: improving signup conversion, increasing adoption of financial services, and increasing share of wallet among existing clients
- Understands and shapes the flywheels of client acquisition, activation, and referrals— building collective intelligence across the company about them
- Develops highly effective experimentation strategies that enable us to learn and see impact as efficiently as possible while honoring our trusted relationship with clients: enabling clients to improve their financial outcomes while making changes that grow the business
- Actively tracks and responds to new information, including macroeconomic conditions, demographic shifts, technology shifts and other opportunity signals. Growth by nature is highly responsive to changing priorities. As the PM lead, you’ll be trusted to move quickly to react to new insights and product launches with high leverage opportunities
- Maintain a longer term view alongside nearterm opportunities, such that the team is aware of approaching local maxima and ready to discover the next paradigm when appropriate
- Define and execute a product-led growth roadmap to improve business outcomes, using both quantitative and qualitative data
- Lead a cross-functional team including engineering, design, data science, user research and marketing to define the product roadmap
- Solicit feedback from, and create alignment with, executives
- Partner with marketing on client acquisition and product adoption strategies across all channels, including referrals, organic, paid, and lifecycle
Our take
Wealthfront's platform takes the hassle and stress out of investing, financial planning, borrowing, and saving with automated services and financial advice. Its robo-advisor allows customers to set a financial limit on their accounts; anything above the limit is moved into an investment account or another account chosen by the customer.
Indeed, it has some similarities to round-up apps like Acorn, which round up purchases and put the spare change into savings. Other companies are working on robo-advisors too, such as Morgan Stanley and Betterment.
Nonetheless, with an impressive and steadily increasing list of clients and more than $50B of assets under its management, Wealthfront achieved Unicorn status in September 2022 and became public in December 2025. However, lower-than-expected stock prices have led to federal investigations and talks of a restructuring. Regardless, its diversified offerings and high-interest checking accounts retain the company's strong position.
