Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence
- Strong SQL skills, using SQL for analytics
- Interest in growing into a pre-sales career path
- Passionate about working with data; love learning, and enthusiastic about helping and teaching others
- Prior exposure to business intelligence and/or enterprise data analytics tools preferred (such as Looker, Omni, Tableau, PowerBI, Mode, Sisense, etc)
- Prior experience with customers (i.e. consulting) preferred

What the job involves
- As a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you'll be a trusted technical expert on the Omni platform, empowering our customers to do more with their data throughout the customer lifecycle
- You'll work with companies across all industries, regions, and company sizes in our high-touch, forward-deployed model — leading complex evaluations, mentoring more junior SEs, and helping shape product direction as you share experience and feedback from the field
- Partner with senior Solutions Engineers and the sales team to support technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept (POCs)
- Learn to build and present POCs in the Omni platform as part of the evaluation process, while helping prospective customers learn to use Omni on their own data
- Support the transition of trials into successful customers by partnering with post-sales teams
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to relay user feedback and help inform product direction
Our take
The founding trio behind Omni led teams at major business intelligence startup Looker (now owned by Google), as well as data integration company Stitch. During their time at these companies, they learned that the more business intelligence teams aspire to be data-driven, the more data they have to integrate and query, and as a result, the more complex it becomes to analyze.
In a bid to outperform their previous employers, Omni’s business intelligence software features a centralized, structured platform which is designed to be more user friendly, while still allowing data analysts the freedom and flexibility of a more advanced BI stack.
It’s not only Looker that Omni has to contend with, however. The likes of Pyramid Analytics and Metabase are growing quickly in a fiercely competitive BI space. This hasn’t deterred its investors though, who have shown their confidence in Omni’s founding team as the company looks to shake up the Business Intelligence market.
