Who you are
- Experience designing for B2B SaaS companies and/or highly technical and data-oriented products
- Experience designing low-code tools that empower subject matter experts
- Strong technical understanding that allows you to engage in discussions with the Engineering Team
- Experience in working in a fast-paced start-up/scale-up environment

What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for translating highly technical and complex problems into clean and understandable solutions
- You will be the voice of user experience and design standards in a cross-functional setting, and responsible for the end-to-end design process for your team
- You’ll join a diverse design team and work closely with engineers, marketing and sales to create products that make it easy for our users to make smarter and safer decisions at scale
- Independently lead all design efforts for a cross functional team within Taktile
- Apply design thinking to complex technical problems
- Continuously learn from user research and be the voice of our customers in product development
- Conduct competitive analysis of existing products in the marketplace to identify opportunities for improvement
- Connect business strategies, available technologies, and design solutions to deliver great experiences that impact our users and our business goals
- Actively validate and iterate to ensure our product concepts are aligned with the business needs and stakeholder expectations
- Collaborate closely with engineers and ensure that designs are implemented effectively in code
- Contribute to and work with our Design System
- Collaborate with other designers to create a coherent user experience across Taktile’s products
Our take
Taktile’s goal is to ultimately enable its enterprise customers in the financial services industry to adopt machine learning (ML) technology and deliver ML applications. Whilst ML may seem old news, enterprise level businesses in the financial services have been slow to adopt it due to a shortage of expertise, IT resources, and regulatory freedom. The wealth of granular data at their fingertips has, therefore, gone underutilised. With Taktile, these organisations can easily deploy, maintain, and monitor ML applications on a single platform, finally putting crucial ML tools in the hands of enterprise level businesses.
Whilst Taktile are still young, they have inspired impressive confidence in some high profile backers, including Y Combinator, and the founders of industry behemoths like Datadog and Github. Presumably this is in anticipation of the reported wave of AI transformation about to break over the financial services - nearly 90% of financial services execs, by one report, plan on boosting their AI investments over the coming years.
Platforms like Taktile may well prove a crucial facilitating force in this rising tide, and a fertile ground for new innovation - alternatively, enterprises could follow the lead of more agile startups and take their ML development in-house. The latter may, in fact, seem a more attractive long-term solution, so Taktile will need to ensure its platform remains convincingly superior. However, evidence of sustained investor interest in Taktile came from its November 22 Series A funding to the sum of $20 million.
