Back End Software Engineer, Abnormal Security

• BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
• 3+ years of industry experience on backend software development & distributed systems, designing & building software applications
• Experience with our stack: Python and/or Go
• Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
• Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
• Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions

• Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Inbound Email Products - Systems (IEPS) team
• The MSP IEPS team is responsible for Abnormal’s core Inbound Email Security product backend systems, including Remediation and Threat Log (data processing and storage)
• Our objective is to make Abnormal the top detection engine by enhancing stability and scalability, as well as expanding our product's impact on customers by serving more types of customers
• The IEPS team develops and manages essential components of Abnormal’s flagship Email Security product, such as Remediation Flows and Customer Portal Dashboards
• This is a back-end focused team and the ideal candidate will have experience working distributed systems at scale
• Design & Execute Software Projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation
• Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, Go-To-Market teams in order to implement, verify and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers
• Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities
