Role
Who you are
- A track record of analysis that changed something - you can point to product decisions that went differently because of your work, ideally in a fast-moving startup where the playbook wasn't written yet
- Hands-on experience across the stack - comfortable owning analytics from tracking through to insight, with strong SQL and tools like BigQuery, dbt and Metabase. You might not have used all of them, but you should be quick to learn
- Fluency with AI in your own workflow - you already use AI to move faster and you're appropriately sceptical of it, able to explain how you verified an answer as well as how you produced it
- Real conviction about the mission - you want your work to matter for frontline workers and the people they support, and you're excited by Beam's values and ways of working
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst to translate Beam's data into decisions that get more frontline workers and the people they support the help they need
- Owning the important questions - working hand in hand with our PMs and engineers to define the metrics behind each squad's roadmap, then answering the hardest questions yourself rather than working through a queue of requests
- Building the data models everything else runs on - extending our BigQuery, dbt and metabase setup so that a metric is defined once, tested properly, documented, and trusted by everyone who uses it
- Turning analysis into decisions - your work is done when the decision is made, the metric moves, or the next step is clear - not when the dashboard ships
- Making data self-serve, including for AI - building the models, definitions and context that let teams across Beam get a trustworthy answer in plain language
Application process
- We take hiring seriously. We have a 4-stage and an optional 5th interview process, giving you plenty of time to learn about Beam while we get to know you
- 30 minute intro with our Talent team
- 45 minute Interview with Ben, Analytics Lead
- ±1hr take-home task + 30m task debrief with two interviewers
- 30 minute product and cultural interview with one of our founders

Our take
Trusted by over 100 government partners, Beam is a social enterprise that brings AI to welfare services. Enabled by tech and AI, their caseworkers have supported thousands of underserved people into homes and jobs, whilst their software has slashed admin for thousands of frontline workers across the UK.
Beam is funded by established names in the UK tech scene, the world's top impact funds and the Mayor of London. Founder and CEO, Alex Stephany, brings a track record from his previous startup backed by Index Ventures and was even named Purpose Entrepreneur of the Year 2024. The rest of Beam's senior team has their own wealth of experience from a variety of leading startups, tech, and social impact businesses like Arm, Multiverse, and GoCardless.
Beam has also won multiple awards, including a Queen's Award - one of the UK's most prestigious business awards - and has twice been voted as one of the top 100 places to work in the UK. Their work has been covered widely in the media, with features from the BBC, The Times, FT, Forbes and The Independent.
AI has the potential to be a game changer for social workers and in a recent pilot, Beam's AI tool, Magic Notes, reduced the time spend on administrative tasks by over 60% and cut assessment write-ups from four hours to just 90 minutes. As councils explore next steps, Beam's technology is already redefining how frontline workers deliver care, so they can spend more time on what matters most.
