Who you are
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
- Strong experience in a fast-paced tech company, preferably in a SaaS environment with a technical background
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

- Demonstrated experience in working with APIs, integrations, or platform products, with a strong understanding of API design principles

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and metrics to make informed decisions and measure the success of integration initiatives
- Bonus: software development experience preferred
What the job involves
- As the Product Manager for APIs and Integrations, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to influence how we integrate technology partners with Flock Safety’s products
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Partnerships, Pre-sales, Technical project management, Design, Legal, and Security to develop and execute comprehensive product integrations with technology partners
- You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our product offerings by seamlessly integrating with third-party systems and building robust APIs to facilitate interoperability
- The First 30 Days
- Meet the team & build context and relationships
- Learn about the company’s mission, long-term goals, and how APIs and integrations support overall strategy
- Become familiar with our products
- Spend time with customers to understand their pain points
- Deeply understand our competitive landscape and target markets
- Learn about our product development best practices, the tools, and the metrics
- The First 60 Days
- Take an active role in your team’s discovery efforts and develop a pipeline of prioritized potential opportunities for your product area
- Own the execution of the product roadmap for the quarter with Engineering
- Monitor and analyze the product performance, user behavior, and feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth
- Own our API documentation and support go to market teams on technical conversations about your product area
- 90 Days & Beyond
- Evaluate and reflect on the product OKRs, product roadmap, backlog, and performance, and identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT)
- Fully owning instrumentation and monitoring of KPIs for your product area
- Find and execute on cross-functional process improvements to ensure the overall success of your product area
- Identify and lead cross-functional product initiatives that can add value and solve problems for the company and its customers

- Product Manager Interview: You will meet with Product leadership to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. You should expect the interview will cover your product experience, guiding strategy, stakeholder communication, & launch experience. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field
- Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners
- The Executive Review: An opportunity to meet leaders within the Product organization. They will be looking to get to know you better, understand your motivations, and understand your background. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more
Our take
Public vehicle surveillance provides valuable insights to emergency services for the prevention of crime, but bringing information together to create leads is difficult. There's no standardised system for inter-city vehicle surveillance, and this makes it difficult for communities and law enforcement services to work together.
Flock Safety provides surveillance equipment that aims to improve the abilities of law enforcement and homeowner associations to communicate data with each other. The company focuses on vehicle surveillance, innovating on existing technology by using machine learning to categorise vehicles by color, license plate, state, and other data points.
Whilst automated surveillance equipment is used daily within federal police forces, Flock Safety builds technology systems that provide a means for smaller law enforcement agencies to quantify and share surveillance data easily. This data can then be automatically processed to help develop leads, a time-consuming process that would usually have to be completed manually.
