Who you are
- Education & Experience: You hold a Bachelor’s degree and have initial relevant experience (1+ years) in a customer-facing role (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, or Consulting) – ideally within a B2B SaaS or startup environment
- Sales & Consulting Expertise: You have experience managing and closing complex sales cycles for technical products that require detailed explanation
- Communication Talent: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native or near-native level). German is a plus
- Mindset: You are characterized by a strong growth mindset and high self-motivation. You enjoy working independently, can manage multiple deals and accounts simultaneously, and have a strong work ethic
- Work Style: You have a positive, empathetic, and structured way of working. You think analytically and are data-driven, making confident decisions based on insights and KPIs
Desirable
- Tech Interest: You are passionate about AI-driven process automation and are not intimidated by complex B2B workflows
- Process Knowledge: Basic knowledge of ERP systems or deep B2B business processes is an advantage
- US Affinity: You already have experience working with US-based customers or a deep understanding of US business culture
What the job involves
- Workist is conquering the US market! We are looking for an entrepreneurially-minded Account Strategist (m/f/x) to spearhead our presence in the United States. In this key hybrid role, you will be the primary point of contact for our US customers
- You combine the closing strength of an Account Executive with the strategic vision of a Customer Success Manager. While based in Berlin, you will work according to the rhythm of our US East Coast clients to guarantee first-class support and engagement
- Market Ownership: You take full responsibility for the US market, acting as the bridge between our overseas customers and the product and management teams in Berlin
- Inbound Sales & Expansion: You qualify incoming leads from the US, conduct product demos, and guide potential customers through to the final contract. Additionally, you actively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your portfolio
- Strategic Customer Success: You support US customers post-sale, lead the onboarding process, and conduct regular Business Reviews (QBRs) to ensure they derive maximum ROI from our AI solution
- Value Evangelist: You translate complex technical content (AI business process automation) into clear value propositions for both technical stakeholders and business executives
- Data-Driven Insights: You analyze usage patterns of your US accounts, implement retention strategies, and provide valuable market feedback to our product team
Our take
Many retail and e-Commerce businesses depend on making orders through purchase order documents that they receive. Workers must manually copy data from these order sheets, double-check that it is correct, and then transfer this to an ERP or CRM system, a process that is repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to human error.
Workist provides an AI-driven business process automation tool with a focus on extracting, validating, and transferring data from purchase orders, saving businesses time and preventing expensive order mistakes. The company uses AI to process many formats of digital documents, recognize the layout and extract data accordingly, validate it to ensure 100% accuracy, and transfer it to the relevant systems.
Several other tech startups leverage AI to automate document processing, but Workist has found a gap in the market by focusing specifically on purchase order sheets, a process that is prone to expensive errors and unnecessarily repetitive workflows. The company claims that it will reduce the time spent on each order by four hours, reducing errors by 80% and saving up to $300K per year. It's clearly reaping results, having received significant funding from investors and incubator initiatives since 2019.
