Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a proven track record of building and scaling reliable, high-performance infrastructure for production systems
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) with extensive hands-on experience designing, managing, and scaling AWS cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment workflows, and ensuring seamless code delivery across multiple environments
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana) with the ability to implement proactive monitoring strategies
- Deep understanding of containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, including scaling and securing containerised workloads
- Experience with high-availability systems, disaster recovery strategies, and designing resilient infrastructure to meet rigorous uptime and performance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner closely with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product teams, and leadership to ensure infrastructure supports business growth
- A strategic thinker with a growth mindset, eager to own and scale infrastructure as the organisation evolves and expands
- Please note, ExTrac provides services to a number of different government clients, some of which specify nationality criteria for individuals seeking Security Clearance (SC). Given this, we can only consider applications from individuals who hold a passport from the UK, another NATO member states, Australia or New Zealand

- Own the design, implementation, and scaling of the company's infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of a growing organisation while remaining secure, reliable, and efficient
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance infrastructure to support mission-critical applications, focusing on long-term growth and optimisation
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, automating code deployment processes to enable fast, reliable delivery at scale while maintaining best practices for quality and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and senior leadership team, to define and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals
- Optimise system performance with advanced monitoring, logging, and observability techniques, proactively identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure as the company grows
- Evaluate and adopt emerging DevOps tools and methodologies, ensuring the organisation stays ahead of the curve and the infrastructure remains future-proof
- Write and maintain clean, scalable, and testable infrastructure code, ensuring the production environment is robust, secure, and prepared for future growth
- Improve out disaster recovery and high-availability strategies, ensuring critical systems can scale and adapt to the demands of a growing user base
