Who you are
- Independent self-starter who enjoys working with an international, cross functional team
- Analytical storyteller who can explain the “why” behind variances and influence financial outcomes
- Exhibits curiosity about the business with the ability to dig in, ask questions and challenge the status quo in a respectful manner
- BS/MS or demonstrated ability in a business or quantitative field: Economics, Business, Math, Statistics - the main thing is you have learned how to think analytically and you are fluent in financial constructs
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial modeling, or related roles, with a strong focus on forecasting and analysis
- Proven track record of developing and managing complex financial models
- Experience with user retention modeling and cohort analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to influence leadership through concise, outcome-oriented presentations
- Able to synthesize large amounts of data and provide actionable insights
- SQL experience required, Python a plus
- Experience working in a tech or marketplace company is a plus
What the job involves
- You'll develop and maintain comprehensive forecasting models for international revenue, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals
- While this position does not have direct reports, you will be responsible for working with and influencing central teams to execute your strategies and learning agendas
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Analytics, and Product, to gather relevant model inputs
- Monitor performance vs forecast and make recommendations to key revenue drivers based on thoughtful, data-driven analysis, ensuring alignment on assumptions with key stakeholders
- Identify risks and opportunities early to provide actionable course correction to ensure we hit our financial targets
- Dig into cohort models to understand consumer behavior and implications for near term and long range planning
- Ensure the development of appropriate reporting, so that members of the team and stakeholders have clear visibility to the performance of the business and spot problems early
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency within the role

Rover has fundamentally changed the U.S pet services industry, a market which is worth $10+ billion, by improving the way pet owners find and book pet care. Rover’s app is now the most downloaded and best-reviewed dog walking and pet sitting app in North America.
Although things slowed down for the company during the pandemic, the successful bounce-back has led it to an IPO and significant growth, notably in European markets. Pet spending is on the rise too, and Rover seems well positioned to ride that wave - an outlook reinforced by its $2.3 billion acquisition by Blackstone, which shows both the platform's resilience and the long-term attractiveness of its offering.
