• Hands-on experience across the credit strategy lifecycle: analysis, strategy design, test design, implementation validation and post-implementation monitoring
• Strong SQL and Python; comfortable with large loan-level and credit bureau datasets
• Real enthusiasm for using AI tools to accelerate your work, and the judgment to verify what they produce

Desirable

• We're looking for a Credit Risk Manager to join Scratch's Credit team and own high-impact analysis across the full consumer lending lifecycle: who we approve, how we turn approvals into loans, how our loans perform, and how we help borrowers who fall behind
• You'll turn data into critical decisions on underwriting strategy, loss mitigation and collections, and our application funnel, working directly with our VP of Credit RIsk and partners across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Marketing
• This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who wants big scope, real ownership, and a team that uses AI to turbocharge our analytical approach
• You'll work across the full scope of our Credit team, with specific projects dictated by priorities
• Example work streams include:
• Own analyses that shape underwriting strategy: find approval and loss opportunities, size the trade-offs, and recommend policy changes
• Diagnose the drivers of credit performance (delinquency, roll rates, losses) and turn them into clear actions
• Improve our loss mitigation, collections and recovery strategies, including designing and reading champion/challenger tests
• Analyze how our application and checkout experience affects the originations funnel, and partner with Product to improve it
• Contribute to underwriting model improvements and help build new models, from data prep through validation and monitoring
• Build repeatable, AI-assisted workflows that make the team faster and our analysis more reliable
• Communicate findings to executives and to our bank and capital partners in clear, concise recommendations

• While these steps may vary slightly from role to role, we aim for a well-rounded interview approach for all involved
• A quick chat with People Ops (HR): To ensure logistics and team fit make sense from both sides
• Hiring Manager Interview: A deep dive to evaluate your credit depth, past business impact, overall operating style, and answer any questions you have about the team
• Live Exercise with Hiring Manager: A practical exercise evaluating your analytical rigor, judgment, and communication approach
• Team Panel Interview: Opportunity to meet the team, discuss your hands-on SQL/Python depth and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Executive-Level Interviews & Reference Checks: A chance for you to meet our leaders, discuss big-picture alignment, and introduce us to your professional references
• In-Person Connection: We include an in-person visit at our Pasadena HQ, either within the final interview steps or during your first week of onboarding, so we can connect face-to-face right from the start
