Who you are
- Experienced Leader: Proven track record of 10+ years in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role, preferably with a focus on financial reporting and analytics products
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of technical systems, data infrastructures, and reporting technologies. Ability to engage with engineering teams on complex technical issues
- Strategic Thinker: Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop long-term, customer-focused product roadmaps and align them with business goals
- Data-Driven Decision Maker: Proficient in using data and analytics to inform product decisions. Experience with performance metrics and advanced data analysis (SQL, Spark, Python)
- Excellent Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders
- Collaborative and Influential: Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence without direct authority across various teams and departments
- Innovative and Agile: Forward-thinking with a passion for innovation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment, and adept at managing multiple priorities
What the job involves
- As a Principal Product Manager for Reporting, you will join as the most senior reporting PM in the company
- You will be responsible for developing visions and strategies that align dozens of teams on everything from optimizing our merchant experience across multiple personas to the ways we process and distribute our reporting solutions
- You will leverage your deep expertise in payments, banking, and data processing technologies to unify our reporting capabilities wherever possible while ensuring they meet the needs of our diverse customer base
- Develop and Drive Product Vision and Strategy: Create and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy for our reporting tools across our suite of products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs
- Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, analytics, design, and other product teams to deliver high-quality reporting solutions that are scalable and user-friendly
- Influence and Inspire: Lead through influence by building strong relationships across the organization, inspiring teams to achieve shared goals, and advocating for the best reporting practices and technologies
- Customer Focus: Deeply understand diverse customer requirements and pain points, ensuring that the reporting solutions we develop provide significant value and enhance the overall user experience
- Performance Metrics and Analysis: Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for reporting features, using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions
- Mentor and Develop Talent: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior product managers, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence within the team
Our take
Adyen has been one of the most successful businesses in Europe over the last decade. When it went public in 2018 at a valuation of €7bn, it raised over €1bn and its share price popped on the first day, resulting in a valuation of €14bn. Its valuation has continued to climb by the billions.
Adyen competes with large players like PayPal, as well as outsized startups like Stripe, to power payments and provide other infrastructure to conduct digital transactions. Disrupters in the field have been buoyed by a strong rise in eCommerce activity, where some or all of a transaction by a customer is made either online or by mobile.
Adyen has been one of the companies riding the wave by helping to reduce the friction between a company choosing to take payments online, and actually being able to do it. That can take multiple steps and agreements across numerous countries — Adyen’s pitch is that it essentially handles all of it in the backend as a service for its users. Notable partners have included Autocanteen, a touchless self-checkout solution for the hospitality industry, and BILL, a small business-focused fintech platform.
