Who you are
- Experience: 6+ years in Infrastructure, DevEx, SRE, or DevOps roles supporting high-traffic, distributed environments
- Cloud Native Mastery: Deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes (K8s) is essential
- Automation Mindset: Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Technical Breadth: Ability to script and build tools in multiple languages (Python, Go, Scala, or Bash)
- Communication: A "doc-first" mentality and the ability to collaborate across distributed product teams
Desirable
- Background in hardening infrastructure for high-compliance or security-sensitive environments
- Experience scaling consumer tech platforms with millions of concurrent users
- Professional Accreditation such as AWS Professional Architect, CKAD or KCSA
What the job involves
- The Velocity team exists to eliminate friction. We treat our internal developers as our customers. You will:
- Abstract Complexity: Build intuitive tooling that enables self-service allowing devs to focus on product logic
- Standardize Excellence: Bake best-practices, security, observability, and scalability into the core stack so they aren't afterthoughts
- Developer Experience: Build self-service tools that give product teams autonomy without sacrificing system stability
- Platform Engineering: Architect and evolve our core stack (AWS, EKS, Terraform)
- Systems Resilience: Lead reliability initiatives, including business continuity planning and a sustainable on-call rotation
- High-Scale Privacy: Support the infrastructure for industry-leading privacy features, such as our TIME-recognized "Anonymous Mode."
- Observability: Implement best-in-class monitoring (metrics, logs, tracing) to ensure issues are identified and mitigated before they impact the user

Flo is an AI-powered period tracking app that allows users to access health insights relating to their cycle by inputting experienced symptoms and cycle dates. AI is leveraged to improve the personalised predictions of upcoming symptoms or periods, allowing the platform to help predict irregular periods or highlight fertile periods in your cycle. They state that the app can also flag when symptoms might need medical attention.
What sets Flo apart from its competitors (Clue, Ovia, Glow) is its ability to change from a period tracker to a fertility tracker, and it can even offer valuable insights postpartum. The app is the number 1 period tracker in the UK and US and the most downloaded female health app worldwide, with over 77 million monthly users. And in the wake of the Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Flo has responded to its users' concerns by implementing an anonymous mode to prevent personal details from being linked to fertility data.
Historically, it has proved difficult for companies to get funding for products aimed at women. However, Flo has largely overcome this and secured significant investment through its funding rounds. This will allow the company to focus on implementing proactive care solutions in the app, amongst other developments, to evolve the service offered.
