Our take

Infrastructure companies must be particularly vigilant in their operations and security, due to the damage and mass public inconvenience that incidents can cause. However, the lack of visibility of a wide range of issues such as worker safety and infrastructural damage makes this difficult, meaning expensive incidents happen too often.

Itron's "Grid Edge Intelligence" platform offers these infrastructure businesses a portfolio of smart networks, software, services, meters and sensors. This combination supplies a more in-depth and up-to-date view of their operations, enabling swift incident detection and prevention, as well as helping them to better predict problems before they even occur.

Whilst incident prediction/prevention software is commonplace, the physical infrastructure industries are relatively underserved, which has proven to be a great opportunity for Itron. With over 7,500 customers across 100 countries, the company is a proven leader in the space and we expect to see it thrive into the future.
