What the job involves
- The SEO/AEO Manager role at Boulevard is more than rankings or content briefs – it’s about owning how Boulevard gets found and chosen, whether that’s a Google search result or an answer inside ChatGPT
- You’ll own strategy and execution across our core organic channels, driving results against business-critical metrics like MQLs and demos while helping Boulevard build visibility in the next generation of answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews as search behavior shifts
- This is a high-leverage role where your decisions directly shape how Boulevard attracts and converts organic demand and creates organic content
- You’ll blend hands-on execution – technical audits, content optimization, AI-based content creation, structured data – with strategic ownership of the roadmap, partnering closely with Content & Web, Marketing Operations, Product Marketing, and Analytics to turn search and AI-answer visibility into pipeline
- Success in this role comes from technical rigor, staying ahead of how AI is reshaping discovery, and building systems that compound organic growth over time
- Own the SEO program end to end – technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, internal linking, and link building – in partnership with the Content & Web team
- Lead technical SEO execution: site architecture, structured data/schema markup, Core Web Vitals, crawl and indexing health
- Build and evolve Boulevard’s AEO strategy, implementing “answer-first” content formatting and semantic reinforcement to earn inclusion in AI Overviews and citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini – including modifying schema and structured data to help with crawl/capture
- Conduct keyword research, entity mapping, and intent analysis to prioritize content that captures search and prompt intent – ideally building search TAMs and keyword and content mapping documents to drive strategy
- Monitor performance regularly across traditional metrics (rankings, clicks, impressions) and next-gen metrics (citation frequency, share of voice, AI referral traffic) – spotting trends and making proactive recommendations
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that clearly communicate organic performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Partner closely with Marketing Operations and Analytics to ensure accurate tracking and attribution, tying organic activity to MQLs, SALs, and Demo Completes
- Collaborate with Brand & Content, Web/Engineering, Product Marketing, and Growth to align the roadmap with business priorities
Our take
Boulevard is a business management platform developed to help streamline the operations of appointment-based businesses, particularly spas and hairdressers. Boulevard addresses the challenges of spas and hairdressers by designing software that makes it easier to automate workflows, scheduling, and pricing, helping drive customers through their doors.
The global spa and salon market is projected to reach a market size exceeding $447 billion by 2032. Traditionally, appointment-based businesses have been heavily reliant on paperwork and receptionists, but Boulevard is looking to modernise the industry by helping drive efficiencies, profit, and a better customer experience.
Boulevard is one in a sea of companies offering software to digitise appointment-based businesses. However, the substantial funding it's raised across multiple rounds and a 500% increase inrevenue over three years demonstrates that it has maintained traction in the market as it grows. Its most recent investment is earmarked for growth in major self-care verticals and to fuel AI R&D. To bolster its offering in a competitive marketplace, Boulevard launched Boulevard Capital in 2024, a growth funding platform for businesses that use its booking software.
