Who you are
- 5+ years of professional experience in development using modern tools like React, JS/TypeScript, Python
- Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch)
- Experience with CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS, internal libraries
- Familiarity with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks, and backend REST/GraphQL development in Python/JS/TS/Go
- Looking for an early-stage role with high ownership and impact
Desirable
- Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js or Chart.js
- Experience with DynamoDB, modern global-scale database design patterns

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an exceptional Founding Software Engineer to join our dynamic founding team and play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our AI-driven healthcare platform from the ground up
- As a key member of our early engineering team, you will focus on building an intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing product using modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Next.js, and Python

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, responsive, and accessible products using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Next.js
- Collaborate closely with product designers, and other engineers to deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences
- Define and drive the overall front-end technical strategy and architecture
- Guide and implement best-practice monitoring, alerting, testing, and development workflows as an early team member
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, code quality, and knowledge sharing within the team
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and take responsibility for the product experience
Our take
Founded after witnessing the tragic effects of untreated malnutrition in hospitals, HealthLeap AI aims to develop AI-assisted tools for healthcare professionals to better address hospital malnutrition. One such tool is the app NutriLeap, used by dieticians to enhance their assessment of a patient’s nutritional needs.
Typically, this work is done by hand but HealthLeap provides productivity-based solutions for often understaffed dietetics, enabling them to deliver efficient and bespoke treatment to patients. With the pandemic accelerating healthcare professionals’ use of digital tools, HealthLeap is positioned to capture a significant market share with its software.
With seed funding awarded in 2022, HealthLeap is now working to provide discharged patients with adequate aftercare, informing them of any changing nutritional needs, key to reducing hospital readmissions. Currently focused on the US market, HealthLeap's goal is to eradicate hospital malnutrition globally.
