Role
Who you are
- Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and building fast, reliable, scalable client-server applications
- Collaborative Mindset: Openness to working effectively within a team environment
- Backend Proficiency: Working knowledge of Python, with experience in Flask/Django
- Frontend Frameworks: Working knowledge of front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or VueJS)
- Testing Skills: Experience writing unit and integration tests with various testing frameworks like Jest
- Web Technologies: Deep Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- API Development: Experience with RESTful APIs
- Design Sensibility: Strong sense of design and meticulous attention to detail in web application
- Education or Equivalent Experience: Hands-on experience in designing and building fast, reliable, and scalable web applications, along with demonstrated proficiency in relevant technologies, is recognized in place of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Desirable
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, but equivalent experience in designing and building fast, reliable, and scalable web applications will also be considered
- Experience with responsive design development to ensure optimal user experience across devices
- Experience with ORM, SQL, and Data Modeling
- Experience with monitoring tools, dashboards, and visualizations
- Experience with cloud-based applications and cloud service providers such as AWS
- Experience working with relational Databases (e.g. SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.)
- Experience in FinTech company

- As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with our product managers and designers to design and develop best-in-class responsive banking applications
- Our team is comprised of talented developers with diverse backgrounds in backend and frontend technologies, working together to innovate and drive meaningful impact in the SMB space
- As a Senior Software Engineer at BlueVine, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology platform
- You'll work with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into elegant, scalable solutions. Leveraging the latest technologies, you'll have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge tools that empower SMBs and enhance their financial well-being
- Work on our flagship product - our Bluevine banking application
- Design and build complex, state-of-the-art, responsive banking applications
- Scale our banking application to meet the evolving needs of SMBs
- Collaborate with product managers to develop compelling product roadmaps and features
- Partner with designers to find elegant solutions to usability problems
- Provide mentorship to other engineers on the team
Our take
Founded in 2013, BlueVine offers a suite of banking services for small and medium businesses (SMBs). BlueVine began as a small business lender, and have since expanded into a small business banking service in late 2020.
Having already loaned billions of dollars with tens of thousands of active customers, BlueVine aims to be the largest bank in the United States for small businesses. While there are over 4,000 banks in the US which are theoretically rivals in this ambition, few of them target the SME market or provide a comprehensive range of financial services to meet their needs.
In 2021 BlueVine appointed Steve Allocca (PayPal, LendingClub, Wells Fargo) as COO. As a small business owner himself, and having worked on SMB-oriented projects at PayPal, his appointment is a smart move as BlueVine moves to net the flurry of new SMBs opening. The company is currently focused on developing its financing products and increasing the range of services available to its customers.
