Role
Who you are
- You’ll already have some solid Product experience behind you and be ready to take greater ownership of an important product area
- You’ll bring:
- Experience taking product work from problem definition through to delivery and measurement
- Good judgement when balancing customer, commercial and technical needs
- Confidence working closely with software engineers
- A practical understanding of customer journeys, UX and product discovery
- Confidence using AI tools to make yourself more effective across research, prototyping and product development
- An ability to combine data with customer and stakeholder insight
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to get into the detail
- Experience in proptech, fintech, insurtech, SaaS or another business with transactional customer journeys would be useful, but isn’t essential
- It’s a good role for someone who wants meaningful ownership, plenty to improve and the space to keep developing as a Product Manager
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of flatfair’s core tenancy protection products, including No Deposit, flatfair Deposit and Tenant Guarantor
- These are established, revenue-generating products used by tenants, landlords and property partners across the UK. Your job is to understand where they can work better, decide what matters most and turn those opportunities into improvements that deliver real customer and commercial value
- You’ll be part of a small Product & Technology team, so this is a hands-on role with plenty of ownership
- Own and develop the roadmap for your product area
- Use customer feedback, data and commercial insight to identify and prioritise opportunities
- Shape problems and requirements with stakeholders and work closely with engineers through delivery
- Map customer journeys and turn ideas into clear flows, prototypes and early concepts
- Use AI confidently to accelerate research, prototyping, design thinking, documentation and day-to-day product work
- Break larger opportunities into practical, achievable pieces of work
- Support launches, measure what happens afterwards and use what you learn to decide what comes next
- Look for ways to improve adoption, remove friction and increase the value our products create

Our take
The average rental deposit in the UK is over £1000, an amount that many tenants struggle to pay when moving home. Flatfair's answer to this is offering a non-refundable membership-fee equal to one-quarter the cost of a rental deposit, meaning renters don't have to take on credit card debt or borrow from family and friends to fund a deposit.
Other companies such as Goodlord and Movebubble have also tried to disrupt rentals, but it remains a hard space to crack. That said, Flatfair's approach, in which it becomes pivotal to both landlords and tenants, puts the company in a smart position to streamline processes and improve the experience, and certainly makes it an intriguing prospect in the space.
The company recently rolled out a tenant guarantor product across 1,000 Build-to-Rent homes in partnership with Heimstaden, combining it with its existing no-deposit solution to simplify tenant onboarding. As the UK rental market evolves and new regulations such as the Renters' Right Act approach, platforms that reduce friction for both renters and landlords could become increasingly important.
