Mudflap's mission is to change a $1 trillion industry for the better.
Role
Who you are
- 1+ year of experience in a sales role
- We use AI to move faster, learn, and work smarter. If your instinct is to default to manual processes instead of looking for ways AI can help, Mudflap will likely be a hard adjustment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to lead customer conversations
- Comfortable with high-volume outreach, objection handling, and rejection
- Curious, coachable, and motivated to continuously improve
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities
- Competitive, goal-oriented, and interested in building a long-term sales career
- Experience with CRM and sales tools
What the job involves
- As an SMB Account Executive, you won’t sit on the sidelines waiting for the chance to sell. You’ll own the full sales cycle for SMB fleets, from identifying the right decision-maker and uncovering their needs through navigating objections and closing the business
- At the same time, you’ll help us break into larger fleets, identifying and developing opportunities and partnering with our Commercial Account Executives to win more complex deals
- We’re looking for people who like a challenge, care about getting better, and genuinely love to win. You’ll get real ownership, a clear number to chase, exposure to increasingly complex sales, and the opportunity to grow your career alongside a profitable company entering its next stage of growth and scale
- Own the full sales cycle for SMB fleets, from initial outreach and discovery through negotiation and close
- Generate and qualify pipeline for larger fleets, developing strong opportunities and partnering with Commercial Account Executives to move them forward
- Research accounts and identify the right decision-makers and buying signals
- Engage prospects across phone, email, and other channels to uncover needs and communicate Mudflap’s value
- Conduct discovery, navigate objections, and create urgency to move opportunities forward
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline across both SMB and larger fleet opportunities
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and account information within the CRM
- Continuously improve your sales approach through coaching, customer feedback, performance data, and results
- Develop a deep understanding of Mudflap’s products, customers, and the fleet industry
Our take
Owner-operators make up 9% of the truckers on the road, in other words 680,000 small businesses forming the backbone of the U.S’s crucial trucking industry. However, only big fleets get major fuel discounts because they have large gallon volumes, leaving these self-employed truckers to pay full price.
Mudflap is bringing those savings to owner-operators & small fleets. When drivers sign up for the app, they join tens of thousands of users which Mudflap then leverages to drive sales for truck stops which offer discounts on fuel in return. It’s a smart model which massively simplifies the process for earning discounts compared to the old route of a fuel card which requires a credit check.
Stop managers could be sceptical about working with mobile payments in return for a promise of increased demand. However, the company provides its entire network with a Mudflap tablet through which to handle all payment transactions within the network, making it easy for whoever is behind the counter.
