Role
Who you are
- You have successfully completed a degree or training in design, visual communication, or a related field
- You have at least three years of experience as a Graphic Designer, Designer or in a comparable position
- You have proven experience as a Brand Designer, preferably in the software or ecommerce industry
- You are proficient in design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and other relevant tools
- You are a strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- You have a creative mindset, an eye for modern design trends, and attention to detail
- You can work on multiple projects with the ability to meet project deadlines
- You are experienced in briefing and managing external design partners
- You are fluent in written and spoken German and English
What the job involves
- As a Brand Designer (m/f/d) at Shopware, you will be a crucial member of our brand design team, responsible for crafting our brand's visual identity across all company, marketing, and sales materials
- Your role will involve translating our brand and product features into visually compelling assets that resonate with diverse target audiences
- Whether for digital or print media, you'll be instrumental in designing materials that leave a lasting impact
- Visual Content Creation: You conceptualize and design a wide range of visual assets according to brand specifications, including but not limited to logos, banners, social media graphics, website layouts, product packaging, and marketing collateral
- Campaign Enhancement: You work closely with marketing teams to enhance campaigns by infusing our brand identity and product features into visuals that captivate target audiences
- Digital and Print Adaptation: You adapt and optimize digital and print media designs, ensuring high-quality and visually appealing materials for various platforms
- Design Excellence: You apply creative problem-solving skills to tackle design challenges and deliver innovative solutions that effectively communicate our brand message
- Production and Quality Assurance: You deliver production-ready digital and print data, maintaining the quality and integrity of design throughout the production process and collaborating with external service providers when needed
- Brand Guidelines and Asset Management: You provide brand guidelines and design tools to empower team members to use templates correctly and consistently, as well as brand libraries and materials to present the company and product
- Ensure Brand Vision: You contribute to the development and implementation of the creative vision of the brand
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute brand design strategies that align with our business objectives
- Besides that, you ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines in all visual materials
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth. 22 years without funding, the impact this could now have on Shopware is exponential.
