Who you are
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, CIMA , CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Netsuite ERP systems) preferred but not essential and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments
What the job involves
- The Financial Accountant with Big 4 audit experience is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- This role leverages the candidate's extensive audit background to enhance financial reporting accuracy and internal controls
- The Financial Accountant will analyse financial data, assist with Audits, and provide insights to support decision-making within the organization, contributing to the overall financial health of the company
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. , GAAP, IFRS)
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Review and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Utilize Big 4 audit experience to assist in the development and implementation of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
- Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits, leveraging knowledge gained from previous audit experience
- Respond to auditor inquiries and assist in the resolution of audit findings
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the organization
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data
