- API Design and Development: Skilled in crafting RESTful APIs adhering to industry best practices and standards, coupled with a willingness to impart knowledge and mentor fellow engineers
- Versatile Skillset: Solid grasp of software development fundamentals, encompassing data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and familiarity with various protocols like SOAP, REST, and GraphQL, along with server-side languages like SQL
- Skilled Communication: Ability to communicate technical ideas or issues in easy-to-understand and actionable terms
- Bonus: experience with React/Typescript and experience in AI, legal tech, and social impact projects

- Our Cases Product Engineering team is in search of a Backend Software Engineer who will lead the charge in architecting cutting-edge software integrations and revolutionize the user experience for EvenUp customers
- Working closely with our talented engineering squad, you'll spearhead the enhancement of our integration engine while paving the way for future innovations
- This role isn't just about coding—it's about making an immediate impact on our business and paving the path for growth opportunities across the organization
- Dive into the dynamic world of legal tech and join us in shaping its future
- Actively engage in the full project lifecycle across the stack, with full ownership from conception to deployment and iteration
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product owners & designers to develop efficient, innovative solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Conceptualize the design and development of interfaces and integration architecture
- Document technical interface requirements and convert specifications into technical designs
- Solve problems with extensive programming skills and abilities in multiple coding languages and frameworks
- Optimizing application performance and responsiveness to ensure a smooth user experience
Our take
Every year, millions of personal injury cases in the US are resolved with only a small fraction going to trial, leaving many victims potentially under-compensated due to inaccurate settlement proposals. EvenUp aims to change this by leveraging AI technology to streamline the assessment of injury cases.
The AI tools evaluate raw case files, including medical and police records, creating tailored "demand packages" that present comprehensive compensation arguments. This improves lawyer performance and victim outcomes.
Despite concerns about AI bias and privacy, EvenUp has garnered significant investor interest, closing a funding round in 2025 that was one of the largest in the history of legal AI. Now valued at over $2 billion, it is investing in its team and introducing new techniques and products for personal injury and other legal areas.
