• This role is a part of the Underwriting engineering organization at Coalition. This specific role is a part of the team that is responsible for building and maintaining a platform to better evaluate and assess the risk of companies that apply for Cyber Insurance
• The platform integrates with cutting-edge security data, insurance contract information, and additional proprietary data sources to assess cyber risk
• In this role, you’ll be leading a few backend engineers, and will write backend services and assist in designing systems that apply a combination of business rules and AI to help improve our Underwriter user experience and improve automations
• Our platform comprises services written in Python. We prioritize selecting the most suitable tools for each task and make pragmatic decisions to scale and decouple systems as we expand
• You'll work on an extremely cross-functional team that collaborates closely both internally and externally with the larger engineering organization
• Writing scalable and clean code, write unit and integration tests, ship with high quality and confidence
• Create alerts, monitors and dashboards to ensure operational stability and observability
• Lead small projects independently or work with a team of engineers for medium-large projects, collaborating with stakeholders
