- Know the industry and can demonstrate 3+ years of software sales experience
- Have experience managing both existing and new customers
- Practice effective, excellent communication with management, customers, and partners
- Can demonstrate a track record of quota attainment
- Have a strong business development background and experience in opening new logos
- Experience with MEDDPICC, salesforce, and storytelling techniques to solve customer problems
What the job involves
- The Account Executive will join our growing team and will help to identify potential client opportunities and generate new business. In this role, you will nurture and grow our relationship with customers by owning accounts and delivering exceptional performance and service
- The revenue team at Octopus Deploy To help our teams work together effectively, this remote position requires you to be located in the United States
- Working closely with the broader team to ensure pipeline generation
- Spearhead our business growth by leveraging a diverse range of tools and strategies to prospect and cultivate new business pipelines actively
- Developing and managing sales pipeline & accurate forecast through the CRM system
- Building multi-threaded strategic relationships within assigned accounts
- Serving as key client contact for customers and coordinating resources to support pre & post-sale experience, professional services, and technical account team
- Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products
- Developing and presenting executive-level presentations to new and existing customers

Our take
Octopus Deploy’s DevOps Automation platform enables developers, release managers, and operations staff to bring all automation into a single place – something that software teams have long struggled to do.
Even though the company has served over 20,000 organisations including NASA, Microsoft, Disney, Xero and Stack Overflow, it’s flown under the radar in its decade of existence. This is in large part due to its organic growth and lack of major VC investment.
However that’s all changed dramatically as of 2021, as major funding from Insight Partners (Pluralsight, Shopify, Twitter, Calm), as well as the acquisition of software container company Dist, sets Octopus Deploy on a high-growth trajectory. The next major step for the company will be to scale up its employee numbers, with a major focus on R&D.
