Who you are
- You are a collaborative problem solver and analytic thinker who is focused on driving impact, and excited to work at a startup.
- You have 4+ years professional experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering, or statistical analysis involving SQL
- Passionate about improving maternal health outcomes
- An autonomous individual contributor capable of prioritizing work across various workstreams
- Experienced scoping and implementing data-driven solutions to ambiguous problems, prioritizing efficacy over complexity
- Excited to work cross-functionally across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including folks who do not share your technical expertise
- A strong communicator and a keen nose for value - someone who can easily and quickly understand the needs of different audiences
Desirable
- Experience working with healthcare data
- Experience presenting analyses to senior business audiences
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
- Experience with data dashboarding or visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase)
- Experience working with dbt
- Experience in a customer-facing role
What the job involves
- We’re looking to bring on a data scientist to join the Payer Impact team and play a leading role in telling our value story to customers.
- Trustworthy, actionable data plays a critical role in Pomelo’s mission to improve pregnancy outcomes.
- As a member of the data team, you will generate data and insights for our customers and internal teams on both our business decisions and the care that we deliver to patients.
- Become an expert in the data that Pomelo has about our patient care and clinical outcomes, and play a foundational role in building the data culture of Pomelo
- Build recurring and custom reports and dashboards to quantify the care and outcomes of Pomelo patients to external audiences
- Partner closely with the Customer Success team on scoping customer requests and translating customer needs into technical requirements
- Collaborate with the Finance team to define and implement billing strategies for payers
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual time spent on reporting, and implement solutions using the appropriate technical tools
- Think creatively about how to use data to satisfy customer reporting requirements and tell our value story to customers; define appropriate metrics and create visualizations
