Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in total rewards roles in an international environment, ideally in multiple companies from startups to more established organisations
- Experience in modern compensation management, incentive structuring, and benchmarking
- Deep understanding of designing and managing total rewards programs and benefits offerings beyond perks
- Proven track record in managing VSOP/ESOP, EIP, and hurdle shares
- Experience with relevant software and tools, and scaling systems, programs and processes
- Deep understanding of gap analyses
- Data-driven approach, spreadsheet wizardry, and skills to produce meaningful visual analyses to support decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and ability to explain complicated compensation and benefits topics appropriately to different audiences
- Strong sense of ownership and keen attention to detail
- Passion for great people experience and inclusive and equitable rewards
- Hands-on approach, flexibility, and willingness to make life easy for others
Desirable
- Experience in the fintech or other regulated fields
- Knowledge of pension programs internationally
- Familiarity with our systems: HiBob, Linear, Gaia
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced rewards expert to join the people team as an individual contributor
- In this role, you will have the opportunity design, implement, and maintain our comprehensive total rewards programs. This includes compensation, benefits, and recognition initiatives that align with our company’s mission and values
- Help shape the total rewards strategy by following Upvest's company and people strategies, rewards philosophy, and organisational goals
- Be the primary point of contact for total rewards, including benchmarking, analysis, salary band updates, international mobility, retention, compensation packages (including equity), and benefits
- Participate in the bi-annual progress cycle and lead the compensation reviews
- Partner on implementing Upvest's virtual shares and employee incentive programs
- Design and implement exciting and competitive rewards offerings for international Upvengers
- Develop and deliver manager, employee, and TA training on reward communication and decision-making
- Work in an outcome-focused manner towards company objectives and People team goals by leading your own projects
- Continuously learn and grow while staying on the pulse of what is happening in the compensation and benefits field

Upvest is a fintech startup that empowers financial services companies to provide their customers with access to a full range of financial assets, including stocks, ETFs and crypto products. Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023, it closed a VC investment round, which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. This was followed up by an impressive Series C at the end of 2024, which is being used to grow its team, enhance its product and cement its presence in the UK.
