Role

Who you are

BS in relevant engineering fields, such as CS, EE, or applied mathematics
Strong coding skills in C++
Experience deploying software in robotics products
Willingness to sweat the details and strive for precision in your work
Additional preferred experience:
Deploying ML models in edge environments

What the job involves

Safety and redundancy is one of the key requirements to Nuro Driver™
In this role, you will contribute to our Parallel Autonomy System and Collision Detection System to protect our passengers and other road participants from the unknown unknowns
Here, you’ll be challenged to provide utmost accuracy while working with exacting latency requirements, where millisecond counts
This team tackles a wide range of problems: ML-based perception across all sensor modalities including audio, estimating object velocity and acceleration with high accuracy, onboard latency optimization, and developing tooling for large scale data curation
Partner with a tight-knit group of engineers who focus on collision avoidance
Participate in the design and implementation of a system that spans perception, planning, and control
Contribute to designing the validation methodology in order to validate a system that is required to perform at extremely high recall and precision on exceedingly rare events

Our take

Nuro offers custom-built autonomous vehicles for the delivery of physical goods, rather than people. Its vehicles have a distinctive, futuristic, design that has not only made the vehicles noticeable from a marketing point of view, but, has also made its vehicles stand out to other road users, improving safety.

Nuro is an exciting addition to the autonomous vehicle landscape. Without a passenger inside the vehicle, it has been able to sidestep some of the safety issues that have plagued other autonomous vehicle brands. Additionally, the company has landed several high-profile partners, including Uber, Walmart, Chipotle, and Kroger.

With home deliveries at an all-time high, many companies are looking for ways to get goods to customers’ homes as fast as possible. Low-cost, efficient services such as Nuro's offering are becoming increasingly attractive. Following Series E funding in 2025, the company is focusing on growing new commercial partnerships and scaling its technology.
