Who you are
- The candidate in this role has an exciting opportunity to shape future brand strategy by testing and creating campaigns with targeted messaging and creative based on customer research

- Experience planning, executing and measuring search campaigns on Google and Bing. Additional experience with mobile app ads (Apple Search Ads, Google UAC) and social media ads (Meta, TikTok) would be preferred
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation methodology, writing ad copy or developing creative assets
- Strong communication skills to articulate plans, impact, challenges and results clearly to a range of audiences including subject matter experts, cross-functional team members and broader business stakeholders
- Ability to make data-driven decisions from interpreting and analyzing data; experience using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, Looker, Tableau, Google Data Studio and/or other business Intelligence (BI) tools
Desirable
- Experience working in a startup/scale-up environment in the B2C fintech space, and/or a keen interest in personal finance
- Experience with affiliate marketing, working with influencers/brands, or other digital marketing areas such as SEO, content marketing, product marketing, mobile app marketing or brand
What the job involves
- Borrowell is looking for a Sr. Marketing Specialist to play a key role in supporting Borrowell’s growth in 2025 and beyond
- This role will be integral to driving scalable member acquisition growth through optimization, experimentation on existing paid media channels as well as identifying new opportunities
- Plan, execute and measure paid media campaigns that meet growth KPIs related to new member/user acquisition and payback; propose experiments and communicate campaign plans, results and challenges on a regular basis with the Marketing and Growth teams
- Work closely with cross-functional team members including Product, Engineering, Data Analytics and Data Engineering to implement and advocate for tools to improve campaign performance or test new high impact opportunities
- Incorporate Borrowell messaging, industry best practices, user research, competitive insights into campaigns and experiment planning; communicate findings with the business to share learnings that also enhance initiatives in other areas of the company
- Working closely with Engineering, ensure integrations and events required for campaign tracking and execution, including Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager are correctly implemented and maintained

Borrowell provides a free credit scoring and financial education service, providing Canadians with a free weekly credit score and helping them to choose appropriate financial services. This is achieved through offering free tips and financial education content before recommending relevant companies, helping users to find the financial tools they need whilst connecting fintech companies with new customers.
The oversaturation of companies in the fintech industry makes finding the right financial tools overwhelming, and therefore Borrowell’s approach of advising users on finding the right services is a smart one. By offering the credit checking and product recommendation service for free, the company encourages Canadian citizens to be smart with their money whilst helping companies acquire new customers.
