Role
Who you are
- We're looking for Software Engineers who are interested in space and passionate about building scalable, reliable software
- The ideal candidate is someone who has experience designing and implementing software systems from requirements to production and deployment
- 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte
- Strong foundation in computer science concepts (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, design, testing, etc.)
- Self-starter and able to navigate ambiguity and assess rapidly evolving priorities
- Strong team player with great communication skills and collaborative work ethic
- Love of learning (technical and otherwise)
- Experience at fast-growing tech startups is a plus
- Experience with Lean Startup & Agile software development methodologies is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Must be located in the United States
What the job involves
- You will be responsible for creating delightful user experiences that solve very complex problems
- Some of the technical challenges we’re undertaking
- Real-time synchronization of data and user interfaces across earth and space
- Visualization of many complex data fields
- Integration of multiple high-bandwidth data streams for real-time processing and display
- Multiple deployment environments including cloud and on-premises
- Mission-critical security and reliability requirements
- Supporting complex workflows and detailed tracking while also maintaining simplicity and delightfulness of user experience
- Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and release our web-based operational dashboards, electronic procedure tools, and suite of specialized software solutions to support various space missions
- Create software to support simple and complex computation on datasets for decision making and autonomous execution
- Build and deploy high quality code on a daily basis for rapid iteration and testing with users
- Design APIs and integration solutions for various proprietary and open-source telemetry and command and control systems
- Rapidly prototype demos and proof-of-concepts for customer meetings
- Join and actively participate in customer discovery calls and technical demonstrations
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of software systems
- Support software QA and user testing
- Assess third-party and open source software and develop integrations
- Contribute to the growth and refinement of our engineering culture, processes, and tools
Our take
The space industry has been re-energized in the previous couple of decades by competition amongst commercial companies like SpaceX, Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic. That has meant an evolving set of intricate tools in an already complex project context.
In response, Epsilon3’s founders created the toolkit they never had and developed the operating system for launch operations that gives everyone in the team a platform to collaborate and communicate from test and design through major operations.
While near competitors First Resonance and Prewitt Ridge have applications in aerospace and manufacturing broadly, Epsilon3 is laser-focused on space and proving that the software works in the highest stakes and most complex environments.
The goal for Epsilon3 will be expanding its client portfolio from companies like Stoke Space and other new rocket entrants to winning custom from the likes of SpaceX. Its Series A funding from 2022 will go some way to helping the company expand.

Max Mednik
(Co-Founder & COO)Has co-founded four startups (three of which still exist today) spanning financial technology, legal technology, and aerospace and defense. Worked at Google as a senior software engineer and tech lead on the Chrome OS and Machine Intelligence teams. Holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
