Role
Who you are
- Background with building high availability and mission critical systems, with strong technical understanding of trade-offs of modern data processing, storage, and querying solutions (such as Flink, Google Cloud Dataflow, Datalake, Google BigQuery)
- Experience with leading an engineering team
- Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives
- Bachelors in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience working in software engineering
- 2+ years of experience managing a team
Desirable
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience with Ops-heavy systems/products
- Hands on experience with Kafka, Flink, or Google Cloud Dataflow
- Proficiency in using Google BigQuery
- Hands-on experience with building solutions on top of modern data ingestion, processing, and warehousing infrastructure, such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, or managed solutions like Google Dataproc, Databricks, etc
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools like Google BigQuery or Trino
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Snap’s Ad Data Infra team, which has the mission to streamline and fortify the backbone of our monetization data processing infrastructure
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
- Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and be the interface between Monetization engineering and our instructure partners, including both the cloud providers and Snap’s Infrastructure teams, leverage their investments to modernize monetization data processing
- Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
- Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Advertising revenue remains periodic and macro-factors still pose headwinds, yet Snaps enduring popularity and its expanding product mix suggest that further success appears likely.
