Who you are
- 8+ years of experience in brand marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing brand strategies
- Strong understanding of cultural trends, consumer behavior, and how modern apparel brands are being built today
- Natural ability to lead, inspire, and be decisive in times of change or ambiguity
- Defaults to action and effectively drives brand alignment across the organization
- Proven experience refining and growing highly recognized lifestyle, creative-led, premium brands

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Director of Brand to lead our brand strategy, identity, creative development, and brand marketing initiatives
- The Director of Brand will play a pivotal role in designing and bringing to life The Black Tux brand, ensuring alignment with our core values and strategic objectives
- This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer
- Concept and execute comprehensive brand marketing campaigns that resonate with our target audience and drive brand awareness and loyalty
- Own The Black Tux's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints and communication channels
- Oversee the creative direction of high-quality assets, including but not limited to photography, videography, graphic design, and copywriting
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement a content strategy that engages our audience across various channels (web, retail stores, social media, email, blog, IRL events, etc.) and formats
- Oversee The Black Tux's social media presence, including content strategy, community engagement, partnership development, and our influencer program
- Utilize data-driven insights to measure and optimize brand performance, campaign effectiveness, and customer sentiment
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify brand growth and differentiation opportunities
Our take
Born from a dissatisfaction with tux hiring, the founders of The Black Tux sought to create an alternative to traditional tuxedo and suit rental outlets, something that was a more fun and enjoyable experience for customers.
Clients can hire or buy one of the company's own designed 100% merino wool suits as well as cotton shirts and proper leather shoes. Using quality and craftsmanship to set them apart from other traditional rental options that typically offer factory-made polyester garments that have been through many rounds of dry cleaning. Customers can build their own look or have one curated by in-house stylists based on their needs. Suit hire is competitively priced considering the garments are worth upwards of $1200 on the shelf.
With standalone showrooms and a Partnership with Nordstrom, Black Tux has recently stepped into the physical retail world. Moving into a future where suits aren’t just reserved for weddings, and the stigma around clothing rental begins to diminish, the company has also started to provide formal wear for interviews and even dates.
