Who you are
- 3-5 years of customer-facing, technical experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or equivalent title
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure & Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to operate in a startup environment that lacks structure of a larger organization
- You are creative, curious. technical, and naturally persuasive
- You are detail-oriented and organized
- You love listening to customers, discussing strategy with colleagues, but also diving into the weeds
- You can interact with various titles and roles within an organization including the technical and security-minded, plus executives within large companies
- General knowledge with a scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, and JavaScript) and a desire to expand those skills
- Familiarity with REST API development and service integrations is a plus
- Ideally has prior B2B SaaS experience
What the job involves
- As an Enterprise Solutions Engineer at Vanta, you’ll be leading the technical discussion with our mid-market customer base & VIP logos side-by-side with our Enterprise Sales team
- Your main goal, ensure there’s nothing stopping our customers from realizing the fullest value with Vanta in pursuit of their own security goals and successful customer retention

- You’ll be an integral part of the Enterprise team, working post-sales to consult and create innovative solutions for our customers
- Your attention to detail focused on customer needs will drive stickiness and ensure customers are realizing value from onboarding through adoption, culminating with renewal year-over-year
- This will ultimately improve retention and overall success of our Sales teams and customers while helping to collect customer references, case studies, and product feedback to influence product roadmap
- Own the technical relationship with our customers, including:
- Partnering with Customer Success Managers to provide prospects with a seamless onboarding and adoption experience with a focus on key integrations across their cloud infrastructure, version control and security systems
- Supporting and assisting the Success team with aspects of the process including security reviews, implementation plans, technical qualification calls, and quarterly business reviews
- Promptly respond to inbound questions and other support requests from the Customer Success teams
- Develop a deep understanding of our product capabilities, integrations, configurations messaging, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape
- Listen carefully to customers to provide market feedback to the product team and help prioritize functionality needed to drive opportunities within our Mid-Market & VIP segment
- Build product examples, documentation, and other critical resources for our customers side by side with product, Success, and other stakeholders
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement
- Creatively identify and help drive new programs to improve the pre to post-sales transitio

The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
