Compliance Data & Reporting Analyst, Kin Insurance

• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, insurance regulatory reporting, financial reporting, audit, or a similar analytical role
• Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregation, and queries that test for completeness, duplicates, and reconciliation breaks
• Experience translating business and regulatory reporting requirements into structured data needs
• A track record of investigating data discrepancies, isolating root causes, and driving remediation to completion
• Precise, detail-oriented working style with well-organized documentation that a colleague can pick up and follow without a walkthrough
• Ability to manage multiple recurring reporting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical partners (Data Engineering) and non-technical partners (Compliance, Finance)

• We’re looking for a Compliance Reporting & Data Analyst to help us build the reporting muscle Kin needs as we scale
• As we expand into new states and roll out new products, our regulatory, financial, and audit reporting obligations grow in both volume and complexity — and the stakes for getting them right grow with them
• This is a newly created role, added as we expand our Compliance Reporting & Data function to keep pace with that growth
• Reporting to the Compliance Reporting & Data Lead, you’ll partner across Compliance, Finance, Product, and Data Engineering to make sure the numbers we send to regulators, auditors, and finance leaders are accurate, complete, and defensible
• Your work will directly protect Kin’s ability to operate in every state we serve today — and every state we’re preparing to enter next
• Translate regulatory and financial reporting requirements into report logic and data definitions, in partnership with the Compliance Reporting & Data Lead
• Develop, maintain, and update regulatory and compliance reports for state filings, market conduct exams, audits, and other reporting obligations
• Validate data used in compliance submissions against agreed checks, document the procedure and results, and escalate exceptions for resolution
• Own reporting readiness for new products and state launches, including post-launch data validation
• Investigate reporting discrepancies and data anomalies, isolate root causes, and drive remediation with Data Engineering, Finance, and Product
• Write and execute validation tests that confirm data pipelines produce reporting-accurate output, and close gaps with Data Engineering before reporting depends on them
• Build and maintain automated reporting processes, data-quality checks, reconciliations, and alerts, and propose additional checks where recurring exceptions surface
• Create and maintain clear documentation of report logic, data definitions, controls, validation procedures, and reporting processes to keep Kin audit-ready
• Produce and reconcile the data feeds Finance relies on for month-end close, and resolve variances identified during reconciliations
• Research data and assemble supporting documentation for responses to regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders, and recommend process, control, and automation improvements to the Compliance Reporting & Data Lead
• Success in this role:

• Recurring reporting exceptions have dropped meaningfully as automated data-quality checks and alerts catch issues before they reach a filing
• There is clear documentation in place for the reports you are responsible for, including step-by-step instructions
