What the job involves
- Smartly.io is hiring a Director, Agency Partnerships – NORAM to expand and accelerate growth across our North America agency portfolio
- This role serves as a Pod Lead, owning a defined set of strategic agency relationships while leading a pod of Agency Development Partners (ADPs) to deliver measurable commercial outcomes
- This is a player-coach role with direct individual revenue responsibility, in addition to accountability for the pod’s overall team target
- Success requires a leader who can actively sell, lead complex deals, and coach others while operating at the intersection of agency influence, enterprise sales execution, and internal orchestration
- Commercial Ownership & Growth:
- Carry an individual revenue target while also owning the pod’s aggregate team target, leading by example through active deal ownership and direct agency and client engagement
- Own revenue growth across a defined portfolio of North American agency partners, including pipeline creation, forecasting, and quarterly performance against targets
- Drive net-new revenue, expansion, and multi-year commitments by identifying scalable opportunities across agency holding companies and priority clients
- Shape deal strategy, guide negotiations, and close complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities involving agencies, brands, and internal teams
- Partner closely with Brand Sales, Solutions, Product, and Customer Success to advance opportunities from early signal through contract execution
- Agency Leadership & Influence:
- Serve as a senior commercial point of contact for priority agency partners, building trust while consistently advancing Smartly’s business objectives
- Influence agency stakeholders across strategy, media, and activation teams to position Smartly as a core growth partner, not a point solution
- Navigate agency operating models, incentives, and client dynamics to align Smartly’s platform with performance goals
- Team Leadership & Player-Coach Execution:
- Lead and coach a pod of Agency Development Partners, setting clear expectations around pipeline quality, deal execution, and revenue contribution
- Personally own and advance priority opportunities while modeling strong sales fundamentals, including qualification, account planning, and close discipline
- Inspect deals, provide hands-on coaching, and raise execution standards across the pod
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Operating Rigor & Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene, using data to drive prioritization and decision-making
- Partner with Sales Ops and Enablement to improve repeatability, role clarity, and commercial consistency across the agency motion
- Provide structured feedback to Product and Leadership based on frontline commercial learnings from agencies and clients

Our take
Smartly.io helps advertisers automate their campaigns across the largest media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. After seeing quick success following Facebook’s 2012 IPO, the company now works with over 700 brands including eBay, Uber, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour and TechStyle.
Its suite of tools automatically creates ads and videos from product images - handling budget allocation and audience targeting, as well as analysing where and when to purchase advertising. Consequently, Smartly.io has positioned itself to play a leading role in a market where brand and performance work are converging.
Smartly.io sold a majority stake to Providence Equity Partners in 2019 in a move to further its presence in the US. The company has since gone on to make several acquisitions of its own with Viralspace.ai and Ad-Lib.io. Smartly.io's ability to adapt to evolving advertising trends supports its continued growth, and its introduction of AI-powered intelligence across its platform shows it is keeping up with technology trends too.
