Role
Who you are
- 5-7+ years of strong international tax, including Big 4 and/or relevant in-house experience
- Education in Accounting, Tax or Finance (specific tax qualifications a plus)
- A strong transfer pricing background would be considered as a plus
- Polish tax experience would be considered as a plus
- Fluent in English, German/Polish is a plus
- Team player at heart, with high motivation to learn and take on new challenges
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely and commercially
- Experience collaborating with team members across geographies, collaborating and building relationships with stakeholders in commercial, financial, and legal functions
What the job involves
- We are a growing team looking for an International Tax Manager in the finance department to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics
- As an International Tax Manager you’ll work on interesting responsibilities like supporting and/or managing complex projects across various sennder countries / entities / functions
- You will help ensure tax compliance, develop tax strategy and execute tax risk controls for the group
- You’ll be collaborating closely with the colleagues in the finance department as well as cross-functionally
- Support and/or lead tax analysis with respect to high priority transfer pricing projects, including CBCR compliance
- Oversee documentation for global transfer pricing transactions, including coordination with the central transfer pricing preparation team
- Help oversee material tax risks and topics in local sennder entities, a hands-on experience in Poland would be considered a plus
- Contribute to continuous automation efforts for corporate income tax and transfer pricing
- Support interdepartmental and cross-border cooperation and data sharing
- Assist in the management of income tax audits
- Work with internal (local head of finance and their teams) and external stakeholders (primarily, Big4 advisors)

Freight forwarding — the process of organising how and where items will be shipped around the world, and specifically the technology that underpins that work — continues to be a huge area of the logistics market.
Sennder, a digital freight forwarder focused on transporting cargo around Europe, is working towards becoming one of the biggest players in the European market. Sennder's current strategy, following major funding, is to expand rapidly, building upon existing expansions including Cars&Cargo, Uber Freight Europe and Everoad.
Although it is one of the most well-funded of the freight forwarders, Sennder will face direct competition in Europe from the likes of Zencargo, as well as international pressure from international giants such as the US' Flexport. To keep them ahead in the market, Sennder must ensure it keeps on top of developing tech such as fleet management systems and the use of the blockchain to manage automation. As well as this, they must battle with an increasingly climate-conscious consumer base putting growing pressure on the logistics industry to cut down its environmental costs. Ensuring it keeps a balance between performance and innovation will be crucial to Sennder's success going forward.
