- Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer, Technical Pre-sales Consultant, Implementation Consultant, Support Engineer, Solutions Architect; or a Software Developer with experience leading projects and/or working with customers
- Gravitas and confidence that makes people sit up and listen to you
- Proven track record engineering complex enterprise solutions into enterprise clients at C-level
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex technical concepts in an easy to understand manner
- Systems-oriented thinking to understand client problems and develop solutions for them where our product fits in
- Prior experience with one or more of the following: file server systems (SMB), document management systems (OpenText), cloud technologies (Office365, Google Workspace S3, Azure file and blob storage, etc.)
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills
- Experience with RedHat/CentOS or container frameworks (such as Docker) (highly desirable)
- Prior experience with Identity and Access Management or Data Loss Prevention tools (desirable)
- The ability to code in Python (ideally) or a similar language (not required, but we would like to know)
What the job involves
- We are looking for someone that is self-starting and entrepreneurial to lead our sales engineering efforts
- Basically everything from the initial demo, to RFP/RFI responses, and POC execution
- You'll be taking the technical pre-sales consulting remit off our CEO's hands as we now enter a critical stage of growth
- You'll be working cross-functionally with Product Managers and the Sales/Customer Success teams to drive revenue
- Partner with Sales & Customer Success teams to drive revenue
- Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses
- Lead all POCs
- Support sales team with solution selling into enterprise clients at C-level
- Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
Our take
With cybersecurity threats rising and regulations tightening, keeping on top of data management and regulations is becoming an increasingly crucial task. It’s a difficult one, too, because not only is the volume of data ballooning, 90% of it is also unstructured, leaving room for costly errors and vulnerabilities.
Ohalo offers a suite of data governance tools to help enterprises tackle the issue of unstructured data. This positions Ohalo as a firmly future-forward company: AI is broadly considered to be the best solution for managing the exponentially increasing amounts of business-critical data. And blockchain protocols are being championed for their unrivalled transparency.
Ohalo keep tight-lipped about its customers and operations, though, so it’s difficult to see where the company stands in the data-governance market. Other broader data governance software developers like OneTrust and Snowflake offer similar services, but Ohalo’s comparatively laser-tight focus may prove more appealing as the issue of unstructured data progresses.
