Role
Who you are
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, accounting, analytics, business intelligence, or related fields
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Strong ability to dive deep into financial data, build complex analyses and forecasts, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite. Experience with SQL and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker) is highly desirable
- Financial Systems Expertise: Strong experience with Financial Planning, Budgeting, & Forecasting systems such as Anaplan (or similar), with a demonstrated ability to optimize financial systems (NetSuite or similar) and reporting processes
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage and influence relationships with key business stakeholders, including senior leadership. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically about financial performance and identify actionable opportunities to improve business outcomes
- Curiosity & Continuous Improvement: A positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a demonstrated ability to adapt to an evolving business environment with a collaborative mindset
What the job involves
- As a Senior Associate, Finance in the FP&A organization, you will work closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams to develop sophisticated financial models, monitor business performance, and drive data-driven decision-making. With a deeper understanding of financial trends, variances, and KPIs, you will provide actionable insights that directly impact strategic initiatives and business growth
- The Senior Associate, Finance is expected to lead more complex analyses and manage relationships with key stakeholders across departments to drive financial success
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with key stakeholders across Finance, Growth Marketing, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial insights. Influence key multi-year financial decisions by translating complex financial data into actionable recommendations for senior management
- Financial Forecasting & Strategic Modeling: Lead the development and maintenance of financial forecasting and reporting models, working with FP&A and department leaders. Ensure financial models are integrated with strategic business goals and evolve as the company’s needs change
- Strategic Insights & Data Exploration: Leverage your advanced analytical skills to uncover trends, anomalies, and key drivers of performance. Use this information to provide insights that not only address immediate business challenges but also identify opportunities for long-term growth and profitability
- Lead Process Improvements: Spearhead initiatives to improve financial systems, reporting processes, and forecasting models. Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and scale financial reporting, ensuring that the FP&A function remains agile and effective as the company grows
- Stakeholder Communication: Manage relationships with key stakeholders across departments, ensuring their reporting and forecasting needs are met. Present complex financial data and insights to senior leadership, providing actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Our take
Food delivered to your door often gets cold and soggy as it travels in a courier's bag from the restaurant to your home. Using Wonder, customers order food from a mobile app, which is cooked in a truck right outside your door. It aims to improve the standard of home-delivered food, both the quality of product – working with world-renowned chefs – and the experience itself.
Wonder has received fair criticism surrounding poor environmental consideration, as each kitchen/van sits idle with the engine running whilst food is prepared. A study by the US Department of Energy found that banning the unnecessary idling of personal vehicles would be the same as taking 5 million vehicles off the roads.
Despite this, Wonder has sustainability strategies involving food sourcing, reducing food waste, sustainable packaging, and, notably, an emissions-neutral fleet. Wonder has received enormous funding, bringing it to a valuation of $7 billion, and the number of vans distributed across North America is expected to multiply exponentially.
