Role
Who you are
- Proven experience with infrastructure as code, ideally using Pulumi
- Proficiency in TypeScript for writing and maintaining infrastructure code
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management and orchestration
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with CI/CD tools like BuildKite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Honeycomb, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack
- Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Participate in on-call rotations during working hours to support production systems
Desirable
- Experience with our chosen technologies and services: Pulumi, GKE, TypeScript, BuildKite, Honeycomb
- Experience implementing security best practices to ensure compliance across the infrastructure
- Experience with database management and optimization
- Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications

What the job involves
- We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our growing team and help us build and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with our development teams to ensure our systems are efficient and reliable as we scale our operations
- Design and implement infrastructure as code using Pulumi and TypeScript to manage cloud resources efficiently
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for application deployment, scaling, and monitoring
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using BuildKite to automate testing, building, and deployment processes
- Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Honeycomb and Google Cloud Logging to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and provide effective infrastructure solutions
- Plan and execute strategies for scaling infrastructure to meet growing demand and ensure high availability
- Optimize cloud resource usage to control costs while maintaining performance and reliability
- Develop and test disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure business continuity
- Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors
- Document infrastructure configurations and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps technologies and trends
Our take
In the US there are almost half a million children in foster care, and around a quarter of those are still waiting to be adopted. Connecting children with the right families, all of whom need to be thoroughly checked before approval, is a long and labor-heavy process involving huge volumes of paperwork.
Binti is aiming to reinvent child welfare by partnering with county and state governments and private social work firms. The company provides them with modern software to speed up and increase approval volumes while still maintaining high standards.
The company has grown quickly since launching in 2017 and struck partnerships with the likes of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, & NYC Children’s Services. The company is showing no signs of slowing down, having concluded a major fundraise to expand further across the US in 2021.
