• You are a leader. You have 10+ years of experience and you’ve succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking etc.). You have at least 6 years of experience managing people
• You have experience taking companies from £1M ARR – £10M ARR, and involved in some of the following: setting up new business functions and divisions from the ground up, building and launching new products, developing the internal tool stack and playbooks, entering new geographies
• You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve problems innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking
• You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you
• You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning are exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
• You're accountable - You want to lead the outcome and positively shape our most important metrics. You have experience leading projects, hitting goals, and succeeding in a team environment
• You’re analytical. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modelling in Excel

Desirable

• You’ll be working closely with and reporting to the CEO to deliver Joy’s strategic and operational priorities. On a day-to-day basis you will:
• Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over Joy’s presence. You’ll do whatever it takes to grow quickly, get 1% better every day, and scale something nascent. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details
• Fix: You’ll troubleshoot escalated issues and biggest priority problems. You’ll create solutions and mitigation strategies be they client related or internal
• Lead. Recruit, lead & retain a world-class team of builders and owners. As a leader, you are a culture carrier. The tone starts with you
• Own. You’ll build and iterate on the execution strategy from first principles and track performance. You’ll drive excellence across all functions
• Manage. This role requires an experienced manager. You will be building and overseeing a team, responsible for motivating and empowering them to scale the business
• Key responsibilities:
• Annual Planning and Operating Rhythm: Working with the company and department leads to pull together and deliver our yearly strategy. This includes defining what key initiatives are required to deliver the strategy and working cross-functionally to deliver. Included is a reporting cadence to update the business to provide understanding and transparency
• Establish Growth Targets: Ensure we are growing at the right rate the right way, and are managing this growth responsibility. Establish key KPIs and how we track them. This includes working with departments and teams to develop a hiring plan, how best to bring on the best talent on, tools to support functions and set up processes to make investment decisions
• Business Evaluation and Improvement (be the ‘objective view)’: Proactively come into the business and listen first, understand different people and perspectives and the end-to-end business to diagnose problems and work with teams to develop solutions. Be able to dig through the details and data to develop a trusted view
• Strategic Operational Initiatives: Able to jump out of the day-to-day and handle business critical ‘missions’ that need to be delivered. This could include evaluating office openings, new product lines to develop or markets to enter, or fundraising support
• Departments: You will be the point of escaltion for the customer-facing functions including customer onboarding, customer support, and account management
