Who you are
- 8+ years working in data engineering
- Proven experience in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data infrastructure (Airbyte, Redshift, Sigma preferred)
- Strong experience working with dbt core/cloud
- Business savvy and capable of interfacing with finance, revenue and ops leaders to build our business intelligence
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and managing data teams
- Expertise in data governance, best practices, and data security, especially related to PII
- Proficiency in SQL and Python and with experience working in AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a global, remote-first company
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments
What the job involves
- As a Data Engineer at Notabene, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how crypto transactions are settled globally
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the business, turning their BI requirements into impactful, data-driven insights
- In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining our data pipelines, scaling our data warehouse architecture, and ensuring data insights are optimized and scalable across the organization
- As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll also be instrumental in driving forward a data-driven culture at Notabene
- You’ll be working closely with key stakeholders across the business providing insights will directly influence our strategic decisions as we grow, and you’ll help us transform our data into a key product offering for our customers and the broader industry
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using dbt, Airbyte, Redshift, and Sigma
- Work closely with product, engineering, and bizops/GTM teams to gather data requirements, setup dashboards and generate critical insights
- Build a data engineering function from scratch, including leading a high-performing data team as the business scales
- Promote a data culture at Notabene and embed data-driven decision-making across the company
- Ensure data governance and security practices are in place, especially around high-security PII data
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure performance and scalability
