Role
Who you are
- 5–7 years managing a software engineering team, with a track record of shipping impactful consumer products
- Strong technical foundation — you can review code, guide architectural decisions, and jump into the codebase when needed
- Experience translating ambiguous problems into clear plans and shipped features alongside product, design, and data science partners
- A demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain strong engineers — you care deeply about growing people’s careers
- Hands-on experience building and operating systems at scale in a production environment
- Comfort thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while keeping your team focused across multiple priorities
- Forward-looking perspective on integrating AI and agentic coding into production engineering workflows
- A love of music (listening, exploring, making — we’re not picky about genre)

What the job involves
- You’ll lead a team building core product and platform capabilities for over 100 million creators — shaping system design, driving execution, and partnering with product, design, and data science to deliver experiences people actually love
- This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll set technical direction, grow your team, and keep things moving in a fast-paced, music-obsessed environment
- Own the technical direction for your team’s domain, driving architecture decisions and ensuring scalable, high-quality systems that serve millions of creators
- Build, coach, and grow a team of engineers — hiring strong talent, running effective performance cycles, and creating a culture where people do their best work
- Partner with product management, design, and data science to define roadmaps, scope projects, and ship features that move the needle
- Navigate the full development lifecycle from ideation through launch, managing tradeoffs and removing blockers so your team stays focused and shipping
- Champion engineering craft across your team — code quality, robust testing, and the right balance of rapid iteration with long-term maintainability
- Contribute to Suno’s mission of making creative fulfillment a daily reality for everyone by delivering the tools and platform that turn imagination into music
Our take
Suno is a company leveraging AI for music creation, attempting to make it accessible to everyone, regardless of their musical background. The platform allows users to generate complete songs by inputting text prompts, breaking down the barriers that traditionally separate amateurs from professional musicians.
Unlike other AI music tools, Suno focuses on ease-of-use, enabling even those with no music theory knowledge to produce professional-sounding songs. This approach has already attracted a diverse user base, including everyday people and GRAMMY-winning artists.
Suno' rise has been fast and impressive, but it's now facing serious legal heat, including new lawsuits from independent artists. If it can defend its practices ad show respect for creators' rights, there's still a strong future ahead for the company.
