Who you are
- You are an expert communicator capable of navigating complex stakeholder environments and managing delivery constraints, capacity, quality, deadlines without compromising the health of your team
- You are a customer-focused leader with a proven track record of managing technical teams to deliver pragmatic solutions that balance quality, security, and customer outcomes
- You have leveraged your technical background to coach engineers and drive engineering best practices, including agile methodologies
- From your time as a hands-on engineer, you will have gained experience on some of the technical stack and will be able to demonstrate this knowledge through the interview process
- You embody servant leadership, demonstrating a humble and considerate approach to teamwork while being deeply motivated by the growth and success of your people
What the job involves
- As an Engineering Manager, your primary goal is to focus on delivery of high quality software as well as team and individual progression
- You will act as a leader focused on the outcomes of multiple teams, working to build autonomy and a high-performing culture, where decisions are effectively delegated, made, and communicated
- Rather than acting as a filter and conduit, you will amplify and enable multiple teams to succeed while balancing technical requirements with business understanding
- Enable the team by supporting them to achieve their goals, removing blockers, and helping them measure and understand their own performance to achieve higher impact
- Drive strategic alignment by developing team charters (Team APIs) to align the team around a shared mission and broader product and business goals
- Build a strong product partnership with Product Managers to improve judgment calls on prioritizing technical investment alongside new feature development
- Ensure efficient delivery of outcomes by coaching the team to ensure delivery ceremonies are effective and essential information is communicated while respecting their time
- Focus on team development by providing ongoing coaching to engineers and establishing a culture of constructive feedback
- Cultivate an inclusive and a psychological safe environment that allows your teams to succeed and thrive
- Lead hiring and retention efforts by refining processes to build diverse, skilled teams and actively working to retain top engineering talent
- Foster cross-functional collaboration by establishing productive partnerships across other teams and leading complex, cross-team projects when required
- Maximize business impact by balancing technical knowledge with business understanding to ensure delivery outcomes align with company goals
- Effectively navigate change management, helping teams evolve and adapt within changing technical environments
- Work with senior stakeholders, including the CTO, Head of Engineering, and Principal Engineers, to support the engineering community and drive the overall maturation of engineering practices across technology, people, and processes

Through its platform, Risk Ledger is marking a turning point in the process of discovering, measuring and then mitigating security risks for companies, their clients and their suppliers. Risk Ledger is trying to lower the number of data breaches experienced by companies and consumers as a consequence of supply chain attacks on a global level.
According to research, over 60% of organisations have suffered a data breach originating in the supply chain with fines inevitably following. Mainstream risk assurance methods are no longer be able to effectively detect and mitigate the growing risk associated with more complex and more global supply chains. SMEs are also generally less resilient to security attacks than multinational corporations due to smaller budgets and teams; over 50,000 SMEs in the UK could collapse after a successful cyber attack.
Risk Ledger has helped customers collect supplier data up to 70% faster than before and reduced per-supplier costs by up to 90%. Its challenge now is to provide integrations with different tools and, by doing so, turn Risk Ledger into a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
