Company mission
To make exceptional healthcare accessible anytime, anywhere, for anyone.
Role
Who you are
- 4–8+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record of impact at a major tech company or a high-growth startup
- Strong engineering fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale production-grade applications or systems
- Experience building full-stack web applications. Our product stack includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, and Postgres. Experience with every part of the stack is not required
- Comfort working with APIs, relational data models, asynchronous workflows, and third-party integrations
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us execute on our impactful product roadmap. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Operations, customers, and teammates to design, build, and ship scalable products that solve real world healthcare challenges for our customers and their patients
- The problems are often messy as a single patient workflow can cross several systems, customer needs vary, and reliability and privacy are table stakes. You’ll bring structure to that ambiguity, make practical tradeoffs, and own your work to design and build systems from the MVP through to a mature, scaled product
- This is a full-stack product engineering role, with a backend emphasis. You’ll work wherever the problem takes you, including user interfaces, APIs, data models, background jobs, and third-party integrations. We're especially excited by candidates who care deeply about improving the patient experience, learn and ship quickly, and are high ownership
- You'll have many responsibilities and will be involved in key decisions alongside the founders and other stakeholders
- Work closely with our world-class engineering team to develop features and products from the ground up
- Enjoy a high degree of autonomy, tasked with solving complex problems in innovative ways
- Participate actively in design and development discussions, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives
- Engage with healthcare professionals to tailor software solutions that meet real-world needs
- Move quickly with the team to ship reliable products, meet ambitious goals, and deliver a five-star customer experience
- You will develop scalable software solutions that comply with HIPAA and other security standards
Our take
Assort Health is a fast-growing healthcare tech company focused on improving how patients connect with providers by designing tools for the complexity of modern healthcare systems.
What Assort really focuses on is a problem most people have experienced, struggling to book or manage an appointment. Clinics are often overwhelmed with calls, and usually understaffed, creating long wait times and the opportunity for mistakes. Assort's voice agents step in to handle those calls, figure out what patients need, and get them booked in correctly.
Already, clinics using Assort are seeing more appointments booked and a smoother experience for all. The company is also starting to expand into other areas like referrals and billing. In just a short amount of time, it has scaled quickly across the US, supporting thousands of providers and raising over $222M, which shows just how much demand there is for fixing these systems.
