Company mission
To help build a better Internet that is bold and ambitious.
Role
Who you are
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, investor relations, FP&A, corporate finance, or equity investing; exposure to public technology companies is a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills, including building and maintaining operating models, consensus models, and share count and dilution forecasts
- Solid understanding of financial statements, public-company reporting, and valuation; familiarity with SaaS or consumption-based revenue models is a plus
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise materials for senior executives and to turn complex financial or technical concepts into simple narratives
- Exceptional attention to detail, and pride in getting every number right
- An ownership mindset: you are organized, take initiative, and can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, especially during earnings season
- High-trust collaboration, with the ability to work effectively with teams across Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Communications
- AI-native curiosity and skill: fluency with modern AI tooling and a track record of using it to amplify your impact
- Sound judgment with confidential information, including awareness of materiality, fair disclosure, and Reg FD (or a strong willingness to learn)
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or AI, and in the public markets
What the job involves
- The Finance team translates strategy into financial outcomes and serves as a trusted voice to the public markets, the Board, and shareholders. The Investor Relations team tells Cloudflare’s financial story to the public markets, translating its technology platform into a clear, credible, and compelling investment narrative
- Cloudflare is looking for an Associate, Investor Relations & Strategic Finance to join its lean IR team and help power how it engages with Wall Street. You will contribute to the quarterly earnings cycle, consensus and financial modeling work, investor events including the annual Investor Day, and strategic finance projects for senior leadership
- This is a hands-on, high-visibility role. Your work will go directly to the CFO, CEO, Board, and public markets, with a high bar for accuracy. You will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, FP&A, and the executive team, gaining broad exposure to the business and public markets. The team uses AI-native tooling to improve insight, productivity, and rigor
- Support the end-to-end quarterly earnings process, helping draft and assemble the press release, supplemental financial information, prepared remarks, Q&A prep, and investor deck
- Build and maintain the consensus model: collect and analyze sell-side estimates and models, and benchmark them against internal forecasts
- Support the guidance process, including share count forecasting, sensitivity analyses, and supporting materials for leadership
- Drive tie-out and validation work so that every figure, claim, and disclosure across the press release, supplemental, scripts, Q&A, deck, 10-Q, and 10-K is accurate and consistent
- Help prepare for earnings Q&A: anticipated questions, peer transcript research, key stats and proof points, and live-call backup material
- Coordinate the post-earnings analyst callback program, including scheduling, notes, and feedback summaries
- Support day-to-day engagement with sell-side analysts and institutional investors, including responding to inbound requests and maintaining the investor database
- Help plan and run investor events, including sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site investor visits, and non-deal roadshows
- Prepare briefing materials for the CEO, CFO, and other executives ahead of investor meetings, including investor profiles, talking points, and Q&A prep
- Maintain core IR collateral, including the investor presentation, fact sheets, and IR website content
- Analyze shareholder ownership and support investor targeting
- Support the planning and execution of the annual Investor Day, including the invite tracker and registration, content drafting, validation, and day-of logistics
- Contribute to strategic finance projects such as peer benchmarking, competitive analyses, long-range financial modeling, and ad-hoc analyses for senior leadership
- Monitor and synthesize analyst coverage, peer results, investor sentiment, and industry trends into clear, actionable summaries for leadership
- Build and maintain the models, dashboards, trackers, and validation tools that let a small team operate at scale
- Use AI-native tooling and automation to improve speed, accuracy, and insight across the IR function
Application process
- Please note that applicants who progress to the offer stage of the interview process may be asked to attend an in-person interview within one of the Cloudflare Offices or Cloudflare Hubs. More details about this will be available at that stage of the interview process
Our take
Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with over 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. This goes some way to counteracting the flak Cloudflare has received in some circles for the controversial groups and users who use its services. This chequered history, however, has not affected its over 80% market share in the content delivery network field.
This is perhaps in part because it has proven sharp at staying abreast of the rapidly morphing tech and digital space and customer demands. For example, Cloudflare is shifting to 100% renewable energy usage to create a zero-emissions internet, and in 2020 released a feature that would help users navigate data privacy regulations by selecting where their data is stored.
And impressive third-quarter 2025 results show strong momentum, with revenue rising to $562 million from $430 million a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year guidance, underscoring confidence in continued growth. As demand for secure, cloud-based infrastructure keeps growing, Cloudflare's expanding platform and improving efficiency leave it well positioned to capture further gains in a rapidly growing market.
